16 hours later and no ferm....

Hey guys, So I pitched yesterday at 5:00pm, it's now 9:00am and there's a bit of pressure on the airlock, but to activivty (bubbles) yet. Should I open up the bucket to see and re-pitch if there's nothing going on or should I RDWHAHB? Nick

Need help!! Not a true boil....what's the worst that can happen?

OK, so I had it going on a full rolling boil for about 50 minutes and a gentles boil for 20 or so...you figure I'm ok with the DMS? SG was 1.062...I was shooting for 1.052 but I got 81% efficiency when I was planning for 75% and I didn't account for how much wort would be absorbed by my whole...

Need help!! Not a true boil....what's the worst that can happen?

ok, I just said "f**k it!" and put it on the propane burner in my garage with the doors open. It's cold outside but at least my wort has been at a full boil for the last 45 minutes. Thanks guys! Nick

Need help!! Not a true boil....what's the worst that can happen?

Hey guys, Doing my first real AG on the stove today because it's way too cold to use my propane burner. Problem is my stove, even on two burners, can't get the 6.5 gallons of wort to a true boil. The water is moving and it's sitting at ~206F. I know that's enough for sterilization, but...

    Beer Smith Users...

Hey guys, I have a related (and probably stupid!) question about Beersmith. Can the same copy be installed and activated on two different computers? I got a copy for Christmas and will be getting a new computer in the next month or so. Thanks! Nick

Stainless Kettle too good to be true.

    aluminum kettle question. pic attatched

Hey, that looks A LOT better than the pic of it in your previous thread! Like Goldiggie said I would just make SURE that all oil and grease residue has been removed beofre using it to boil wort. At 7.5 gallons you're right on the cusp of the limit for 5 gallon batches, but use it for now and...

can i use this for a boil pot?

It's aluminum, so I have no idea why the rust is that colour. Are you sure it's not stains and crud from something left in it? Something made of stel, perhaps? I would *think* that a good scrub with steel wool or some other abrasive materail should get it off and then boiling water in it would...
