Do any online vendors mill grain at a .025" gap??

I always had efficiency in the mid to high 70s with RiteBrew.com double crush. I also got similar efficiency with the double crush from AtlanticBrewSupply.com . I have since bought a corona mill and built my own mill station.

    Home brewers in Puerto Rico

@amandley Hey just saw this. There is only 1 homebrew shop on the island, Caribbean Brewing in Carolina. Its a small shop but the owner Billy is constantly making improvements, adding equipment and ingedients. His prices are good, especially considering shipping to the island and if he doesnt...

    Show me your sack!

PSST, it works better if the grains are in the water and not just steamed on top......

Did my first small batch brew tonight, while hanging with the kiddos, cooking food for Super Bowl, doing dishes and laundry. Pretty cool. Just did a single hop Sabro IPA, a 1.5gal version of the 5 gal I did yesterday. Love that Ill get to add an extra brew day or 2 each month.

Hornindal Kveik is blowing my mind

@Miraculix Did the grassyness from your APA go away after a bit of time? Do you prefer Voss over Hornidal for APA/IPA style beers?

Hornindal Kveik is blowing my mind

Interested in kveik for APAs and IPAs, does it get "funky"? I've used Omega OYL-200 fermented mid to upper 70s and it came out fantastic. Big tropical fruity esters, no funk, are kveik esters similar to this?

American IPA Single Hop Vic Secret IPA

Should the gov't decide to give me a paycheck again, I can buy the grains for this again. Hops and yeast waiting patiently at the house. Guess I could grow up this yeast and split it up so I can stop buying it every time. Anyone else make yeast starters for fun when you cant brew? LOL

    I Have 1LB of Centennial....

2 row / vienna is a great combo, i use it a lot as a base to try out hops. I would leave the crystal out all together. Since you have a lb of hops you can be pretty generous with your additions. For a hop schedule something like this might be good: 1oz @60 1oz @15 1oz @ flame out 3oz @ hop...

Specialty IPA: Red IPA India Red Ale

Little update, I did add the 8oz sugar to the fermenter, bringing my OG up to 1.073. Pitched 2 packs of MJ 044 West Coast Ale yeast. After 2 weeks I took an FG reading, it was only 1.020. Kind of disappointed, definitely wanted it drier and more in the west coast style, may still end up being a...

How much hops and grain do you have on hand?

I used to keep enough for 3-4 brews. Since moving to PR its too expensive to ship bulk grains so I buy by the batch from the only LHBS on the island, but the prices are actually pretty decent. Cheaper than my LHBS back in VA. I would typically have 30-40lb 2 row, 15-20lb Vienna, 20lb MO, 5lb...

Specialty IPA: Red IPA India Red Ale

Well been saying I was gonna do this for a while and Im finally getting to it this weekend, just a 5gal ale this time, not doing the double batch ale/lager split, maybe another day. Bumped the grain bill up a bit because Im feeling like getting something a bit stronger on tap but still using...
