Best Malt focused, clean ale yeast

Another vote for 1450. It has great stability as well, this weekend I'll be pitching the 27th batch from a smack pack I bought in June 2015 :D

    Aeration stone cleaning

A bit cheaper here if you don't really need the NPT fitting. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0064OKB00/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 But I agree a soak in a caustic cleaner like PBW should do the trick. Just be sure to rinse and flush it well. Connect it to O2 or CO2 to make sure any remaining...

    Coffee Water Profile

I too find straight RO a bit bland for coffee and have settled on for now a 50/50 mix of RO and bottled "spring" water from the local grocery store, which yields a TDS in the 125 mg range. FWIW here is the SCAA's spec...

What are these parts for my keg lines called?

Probably simpler to replace the whole disconnect. The small bits can be found though. If yours are the CM Becker brand you can look HERE. I think Brew Hardware has some of those parts as well...

    White stout/Raspberry question

Have you tried contacting the brewer of the beer you want to replicate to see if they can offer any insight?

    American Stout Bell's Java Stout

Mash temp? Have you tried a side by side comparison? Thanks

    Foundation Brewing Epiphany Clone

Like blkmagik98 said it's a partial mash so your interpretation is correct. I think many here would agree that "not squeezing the bag" is one of those homebrewing "rules" that can be safely ignored. Many BIAB brewer's enthusiastically squeeze their bags without issue :D

Brewometer kickstarter thoughts - digital bluetooth hydrometer

Mine quit for most of the day yesterday until I discovered that the url had changed. Not sure where the change occurred, on the site or in my tablet. I'm the only one with access to the tablet.

    Mash eff calculation check

Yes, I use Beersmith and it will adjust the amount strike water according to boil length. If you are doing BIAB, for a 120 min boil I think you would simply add your one hour boil-off volume to the total volume you calculate for a 60 min boil. To give you an example of how all this worked for...

    Brew Boss Systems

The principles outlined HERE have helped me to hit my numbers on bigger beers, good food for thought... For adding dextrose to the boil I started pulling some hot wort from the boil (about 10 - 20 minutes before flameout) to dissolve the sugar thoroughly in a separate pitcher, then simply...

    Mash eff calculation check

That's what I do with my Brew-Boss system and basket from Arbor-Fab. I would always miss my OG on bigger brews before going with a longer boil and more water. I usually only need to reserve a gallon to sparge with and still have enough to recirculate. Now I'm usually a couple points over. To...

American Pale Ale Russian River Row 2 Hill 56 Clone

Probably, I wouldn't be surprised if it gets below 1.010. That has been my experience since I started dry-hopping in the primary, seems to get the little buggers all excited again.

    Mash eff calculation check

You can try a longer boil which will require more water initially, that way you can reserve a gallon or so to sparge and not have a super thick mash. See HERE... When I go north of 1.068 or so I calculate for a 120 min boil.

Introducing BrewStat.us, a Brew data tracking site.

Hi Raine, First off thanks for all your hard work, it's really appreciated! I don't know if you are still having server issues, but I cannot log in to my account this morning. I get a 500 Server Error and the "Uh!Oh! Something bad happened" message. For my own wish list list, I would...

Probably not, but I would just go with 3 ounces myself.

American Pale Ale Russian River Row 2 Hill 56 Clone

If it were me I'd just throw the missing ounce in the dry hop, It'll still be a tasty beer...

Sorry for the confusion I was referring to my own operator error that you helped me resolve a couple of posts earlier.
