Field Hand Hefeweizen & Updated Brewery Logo

The new logo and the ruff around the edges effect you used gave it a ton of more depth vs the old logo that looked good but everything was so crisp and very stamp like. also you darkened most of the coloring in it which also made it stand out better. It would make for one bad ass guitar pick i...

    Dry-hop Vs. Randal

Personally i would not dry hop a beer that i had planned to send through a Randall and that is only if i where planning 100 percent on randallizing the beer. But thats the beautiful thing about the randall, just set it up to hook up to what ever keg you want. if you had 4 kegs of the same beer...

    Question for ranco users......

So i used the Whitelabs vial idea. I had some extra SS tubing so i cut it down then wrapped the one end with a ton of electrical tape to seal it up. drilled a hole in the lid of the vial and filled the vial with the jelly from a freezer pack and sealed it up. the probe slides down into the...

    Bad info from LHBS

he is a dumb dumb, He could make a few extra bucks off you and you would get what you wanted and be happy and fermenting with plenty of head space. but he is talking you into a slightly cheaper alternative that will just make more of a mess and get him 5 or 10 dollars less in the end.

i used he same amount last year in a smoked weizenbock type beer and too got nothing just like you did. couple of things i picked up on shortly after my 1st mishap where. that for starters the smoke malt from LHBS's may not be the freshest as its not really a malt that is flying off the shelves...

Power drill paint mixer attachment for aeration.

I use one also. I was looking at o2 tanks at home depot the other day figuring i could build up an o2 system but i have way to much fun with the paint mixers. this weekend i did up a pretty big stout OG around 1.090, granted i had a starter for the beer, i also used the paint mixer and got a...

    Bayou Classic Double/Triple Burner Stands

This is the one i use. https://www.pelicansky.com/productdetail.aspx?id=100&cat=65 it can easily fit 2-14 gallon euro kettles and you could most likely fit any other kettles on it but it may hang off the edge a bit.Its cheaper and the stand itself seems to be much sturdier than the others.

    Advantages of a Yeast starter

I too used to question starters. At the time i had about 20 or so batches under my belt and i always used wyeast or Wl with beers all over the spectrum from low to high gravities, Never had an infection and all of them to me and people drinking them where good beers, So i figured it was just...

    Hops - Leaf or Pellet?

I like to use whole leaf or plugs whenever i can get a chance. For my system this works great while doing two things, one is keeping the hops out of the finished beer and the other is that a good amount of the hot break then sticks to the leaf hops and does not carry over into the finished beer...

    New Zealand Hops, Any Users?

I am a huge fan of the Nelson Sauvin hop. I never got what they say about it having similarities to a type of wine. I get a more strong grapefruit citrus aroma if anything, i remember a few years ago the first pound i got in the mail when i ripped them open and gave a whiff i said to myself...

Looking for some tips on mashing with Rye...

Any time i use rye or wheat in large amounts of the grain bill i have always used rice hulls. They have never let me down, just account for some extra water to add to the mash because the rice hulls will suck up some of your mash in water.
