Is there something in-between a counter-pressure filler and a commercial bottler?

Tapcooler has an optional drain hose that can direct the foam into a container or drip tray.

Is there something in-between a counter-pressure filler and a commercial bottler?

"Ultratap, Vent-Matic, Perlick 600 series and Intertap faucets. These fillers can be converted to fit Perlick 500 series with an optional tap connector." Forward sealing taps do not have the "plunger" visiable from the front of the tap. With my tapcooler I can easily fill "foamy" beers just by...

Wiring 120V PID to 240V Heater - Am I Gonna Die?

I suggest powering the inkbird from a GFI source for added personel protection. I also have an Inkbird PID and use it on a RIMS which also work great. Just make sure that you have wort flow before turning on the heating element.

    BIAB VS All-In-One System

Once I made the jump to all-grain, the next step shortly after, was to keg my beer. Below is my tap tower that I picked up used for $150, I reused my perlick taps since it came with cheap ones.

    BIAB VS All-In-One System

My sentiments exactly! The reason I started all-grain brewing was that brewing extract reminded me of making pancakes with bisquick. It was fun at first but after the first dozen batches it was boring. I actually like to spend a 7 hour day brewing an all-grain beer (clean-up time included)...

Stepping up mash temp on RIMS vs HERMS

The first photo has a sight glass between the T and the heating element, I didn't notice that at first. I prefer to move the sight glass either before or after the valve to allow the temp probe to be closer to the heating element.

Stepping up mash temp on RIMS vs HERMS

Results? Both methods results should be the same since the only difference is what side of the T the thermocouple and valve are located. As a side note, from this video Link the 15 gallon spike trio setup has the same RIMS configuration as you currently have.

Anyone have a solid Dark Czech Lager - Recipe

I recently brewed this beer adding some black malt to the sparge, I use Gordon Strong's method by adding non-fermentable malts to the vorlauf stage to reduce harshness. I also used a house strain yeast (34/70) given to my by a local microbrewery (Gold Finger) with the understanding that I would...

Anyone have a solid Dark Czech Lager - Recipe

The 48 score only got me a 3rd place. Mini BOS judging does not look at scores and I was competing with similar beers (Schwarzbier). In my opinion, the 48 score has more bragging rights than a 1st place score. I have entered that beer in other competitions, which I received a 36 with comments...

Anyone have a solid Dark Czech Lager - Recipe

I won the beer club competition and scored a 48 (by a National Judge) in a local competition with this beer! I was also able to compare it to several Czech dark lagers from the Czech Republic (purchased locally) and my version was missing some caramel malt flavors when served at cold, as it...

    Texas Recommend brewery

When I was in Houston Tx for work I wanted to try Celis Brewery (located in Austin) but unfortunately they don't distrubute their beers to Houston. Celis is on my bucket list because of the founder Piere Celis who brought back Belgin Witbier to popularity. His daughter and granddaughter now run...

Tapcooler Hands Free Bottling Mount: Anyone Used It?

Thanks for sharing, I would need to rig up a stand for this since I don't have a flat surface to mount it. I also have the extension to allow the bottles to rest on the top of my keezer but you still need to you still need to apply downward pressure on te tapcooler, easier than holding then...

Stepping up mash temp on RIMS vs HERMS

Yes I preheat the water in my boil kettle and pump it to the mash tun. I undershoot the target mash temp by a few degrees since the RIMS will bring it up to the target temp which is easier then trying to cool the mash temp back down. I did this once and had to use my plate chiller to cool the...

Florida $999 10g Electric Brewery, SS Brewtech, RIMS, pump, chiller, stainless glory!

I hear you on the back issues, I moved my brewing into my basement since that is where I store my brew equipment and I use pumps to move liquids even into the fermenter.

Florida $999 10g Electric Brewery, SS Brewtech, RIMS, pump, chiller, stainless glory!

What system are you looking to get? I am interested to see the trend that homebrewers are moving to. From the beer club members the trend is going to the all-in-one type systems. I am still old school and prefer seperate mash tun and boil kettle.

Stepping up mash temp on RIMS vs HERMS

If you decide to go with relocating the RIMS heater temp probe, you may wish to use the existing thermowell in the mash tun to verify when the target mash temp is reached. I use a spare inkbird for this purpose, when my target temp is reached in the mash tun is when I start my timer.

Stepping up mash temp on RIMS vs HERMS

It appears that Spike didn't intend to utilize the RIMS as it was designed, more so to "top-off" the mash temp. Is there a Spike Nano forum where you could get other users input?

Stepping up mash temp on RIMS vs HERMS

I would be interested in what Spike responds with. I don't understand why the mash PID controller does not have a auto tune function and why the RIMS thermocouple is not located near the heating element.
