i have a few old bottles they are all real heavy as well, pretty nice. but after 3 years of bottling i think i have something like 200 bottles in boxes down in the basement. i'm not to worried about running out, haha. whenever i start kegging, i'll need to find someone local to give a bunch...

    house warming party

so the wife and i had a house warming party this past weekend. i haven't brewed in 4 weeks while spending most of the weekends getting the house ready for it (painting and so on). but i was happy when my home brew was a hit with most of the people. sadly i'm almost tapped out of my own beer...

    Does Stout Take More Time?

i usually leave in there a little longer. i brewed a stout 3 or 4 weeks ago, and its still in primary. i found depending on the OG, it can take longer, but that could be for any style with a high OG. i found they tend to age well, i brewed my first stout a year ago sometime this month, and i...

    Buying hops

i'd say go for it, i bought 2lbs (1lbs of Cascade & 1lbs of Cent) and i'm happy i did. i brew alot of APA and IPA's so buying them made the most sense. take a look at what you most often brew and thinking of a hop that would be good for you.

    Pale chocolate substitute?

I'm sure if you buy alot from you lhbs, they'd let you crush it there until you're able to crush.

    bottle conditioning question

something like BM Cent. Blonde, for those of you who bottle condition, how long after bottling do you finally feel its "ready"? i'm worried my temp's in the basement got a little high, no higher then 71 or 72. and it was my 3rd all-grain batch (BM Cent. Blonde). but after 2 weeks in bottles...

    MLT cleaning

i disassemble my manifold, wash it all out, fill the cooler up with some water/cleaner soke it 10-15 minutes, drain and let it air dry in the basement. i leave the lid off though, but i still think there is a hint of grain smell to it even.
