I cant comment on the bg12, but I have 2 bg14s for my hlt and bk, and they work great. I have the natural gas orifice. I am not direct firing my mt, but I have heard that it is easy to overshoot your mark with the larger burner. I got mine from brewers hardware, but you can get them at NB as well.

I would put it in the fridge, which will cold crash the yeast. When you brew, decant the clear stuff and just pitch the slurry. I do that with most of my batches.

I start a fresh batch of star san when sanitizing a fermenter. Transfer that to a keg on brew day and a little for a spray bottle. Transfer from keg to fermenter and this becomes a sanitized keg for the beer just made. Repeat until the star san is dirty or old.

Thanks all. My intent was to use either buckets or air tight storage containers, but I got lazy. I did pickup some used frosting buckets from Target, but even after cleaning and PBW soak, they still smell like vanilla.

Just a hole large enough for the hose. I open the lid to adjust the flow rate and the height above the grain, then close it up for a 10 min vorlauf.

Yes, that's how mine is. I keep the hose in the hole during the mash so heat loss is negligible, and recirculate for the last 10 mins.
