HEEEEELP . Bung fell into my carboy

Beer should be fine done similar things and never became an issue. I would proceed as normal not making any changes to your usual process except extracting the bung when you empty the carboy.

    Plate Chiller Advice

I recirc til my temp coming out is ready to pitch or as close as I can get it. I usually sterilize my chiller in the oven sometime before I use it. But when a time comes when I didn't get it sterilized in the oven I just run boiling water through it for about 20 mins or so before I chill the...

    Upping my Equipment questions...

your chiller will work fine but may just take longer. you could also look into getting/making a pre-chiller to speed things up and getting your final temp down lower (especially for lagers). Also in the cold months I have just covered my kettle up with plastic wrap and a make shift cap I made...

    Nitro faucet question

I have a nitro tap and the push back only looks to about 15 degree or so. You may not need to bring it out at all. I looked at mine and the shank is a bit longer than the one you are purchasing but mine comes no where near the threads. I think as long as you don't put to long of a tap handle...

Homebrewing as a way to save money

I like to look at it this way, I brew about 15 gallons a month. A lot of experimental beers but a few that are regulars. My regular beers, obviously my favorites, are brewed only by me. Can't by them anywhere in the world. So if only 10 gallons of a beer are made a year what would the price...

    Brewing outside?

I brew outside unless it is a real rainy day then in my garage. Its nice not to have to worry about spills and things like that. When im all done I just clean up the area with a hose. I guess if you brew inside you don't have to worry about weather and bugs and such but I don't find that to...

    Citra /nugget IPA

I have not used that combo but I use citra hops in a few of my pale ales and ipa's. I've used them in combo with a few different hops (summit, cascade, centennial,) and a few others I can't remember off the top of my head, but worked well with all of them. Let us know how it turns out cause I...

    Immersion wort chiller build

I used a few different size IC and was fine with the 3/8 coil with the pre chiller. I was able to get my lagers down to pitching temps with just a little extra time and ice. Also would pack my pre chiller with snow when available. Def saves time if you stir the wort while chilling it.

Why don't yeast companies just sell liquid yeast packages with higher cell counts?

I don't think I would want my homebrew shop to make a starter for me. If I end up with an off batch that would be the first place I would think was the issue. I like to have as much control over my brew process as possible and any issues are my fault. The few times were an unscheduled brew...

Why don't yeast companies just sell liquid yeast packages with higher cell counts?

Unless using dry yeast I always make a starter. When I first started using liquid yeast (WL) I didn't make a starter but after reading how important yeast count and viability are it seems like a great assurance that the yeast is good. Since making starters Ive noticed a difference in my beers...

    Trouble with sediment

agree with cold crashing and using the gelatin. Ive used the gelatin with good results but don't really use it anymore because it don't bother me to let a beer clear on its own for a while if needed. ive bottled quite a few beers after cold crashing and never had a problem not sure what the...

Yes foam again. But a problem I have not yet read about

not sure how accurate I am on this but it seems I have noticed if I have less head space in my keg it takes longer to carb. I usually don't shake carb my kegs so not sure if this really matters in your case, but it may help you.
