    A Brewing Water Chemistry Primer

I may have missed this during my reading. By using 2% sauermalz do you mean work it in as 2% of the grain bill or add it as on top of the existing grain bill? Brewing up a storm in Langley, British Columbia

    A Brewing Water Chemistry Primer

Excellent thread. So far I've read through the the first third and last third. I will finish the middle when I get more time. The only thing that would make the primer better would be to add beer style examples so that folks don't need to keep asking where there next brew fits in. Thanks for...

Thanks guys. I'll have to plan around that. Brewing up a storm in Langley, British Columbia

3-in-1 "Boil Kettle, Jacketed Chiller, Conical Fermenter" by Brewha

Can you guys give me an idea of how much the 3 in 1 weighs empty? Can you lift it up two or three stairs?

3-in-1 "Boil Kettle, Jacketed Chiller, Conical Fermenter" by Brewha

Great thread! I was just able to view the biac last week up close. I'm sold in the idea but since I brew outside on my deck, I'm not sure where I would store the unit. I'd have to be able to lift it up a couple of stairs to get it inside and then down a couple of more to get it to my fermenting...

    Ideas for natural gas conversion

Sweet! So I guess the burner has mounting holes on the bottom? I've already been to Home Depot and they said to bring the burner in when I get it and they'll piece the whole thing together and all I have to do is install it. Brewing up a storm in Langley, British Columbia

Thanks. Will a burner like that fit onto my existing frame? Brewing up a storm in Langley, British Columbia

    Help identifying fermenter

Yep it's great but so far I'm finding that I can't buy parts for it and the spigot has some crud in a spot that I can't clean. I've set up a couple of ale pales with spigots and they're almost as good. Brewing up a storm in Langley, British Columbia

    Ideas for natural gas conversion

So here I am sitting on the deck looking at my propane burner stored right next to my natural gas barbecue, literally two feet from the natural gas outlet. Why haven't I switched to NG yet? Looking at this burner, would it make more sense to buy a NG burner and swap it into this frame? Or...

    Help identifying fermenter

Thanks guys. It's definitely not a top of the line fermenter but I haven't touched my better bottles or glass carboy since using it. I was just about to drop some coin on two speidels but I think these would do the job. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    Help identifying fermenter

Hi folks. I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what brand this fermenter is. I picked it up at a grage sale a few months back and have enjoyed using it ever since. I'd like to find a replacement spigot and possibly buy another one Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

CO2 Tank Refill in Vancouver, BC, Canada?

I believe they're called surrey fire and safety? Located on 56th just west off of 200th street. They take a couple of days to fill and it's about $25. Barleys homebrewing in new Westminster exchanges tanks if you're in a hurry but lat time I was there they only had 10 pounders so call ahead...

CO2 Tank Refill in Vancouver, BC, Canada?

Bosa grape in Burnaby lists beer gas and co2 refills on their website. I have been getting my co2 filled at a fire and safety shop in Langley. When I get my nitrogen set up I will give Bosa grape a call and see if they do indeed refill them.

    Substitute for carawheat

Hi folks. I'm planning to brew a Roggenbier this weekend and heading out today to get the ingredients. Problem is that the recipe I want to brew has a grain that none of the local homebrew shops seem to carry. Caramel wheat. There's only .07 kilograms needed for the 11 liter batch that I'm...

    Painting the keezer

Yep. It's going in the kitchen so the wife says it has to match the rest of the appliances witch are glossy black. Problem solved today though. Seems the bosses daughter can't drive good in the snow. I'm trading some work on her car for all the materials to paint this thing. Going to use...

    Painting the keezer

I should mention that I'm an autobody refinished by trade. Problem is that my employer doesn't let us use shop materials for personal projects and the automotive paint for this thing would cost about $150 or more. By that time I could have bought a new black freezer. I was hoping to get...

    Keezer seals

No not at all. I'm just concerned about being energy efficient and figured that the factory seal would be best. I like the idea of building the collar so that it covers the seal. That would solve the problem without making any modifications to the lid.

    Painting the keezer

Thanks guys I'll look into the rust oleum. From what I know about spray paint, it doesn't work well at cold temps. I might have to hold off until spring.

    Painting the keezer

I'm about to paint a white freezer black and I'm wondering whether spray can or roll on paint is best. My freezer has the textured surface so I'm sure that makes a difference.
