    Distilling

I’m considering the possibility that we might be in quarantine for a while, and the likelihood that I might need to up my game a bit by distilling my own, uh, vinegar for use in, uh, pickling. does anyone here have a home still for, uh, vinegar, that you love??

    Blichmann BrewEasy

You may have already seen this, and perhaps Alex Deacon is already on the forum, but there’s a REALLY good step-by-step brew day for the BrewEasy on this blog - it helped me boost my efficiency. https://colevalleybrewing.weebly.com/brew-easy-step-by-step.html

    Finally...it’s been a year

I’ve been itchy for months. The moving company lost some of my brewing equipment - I am so glad that I had a complete inventory. Now that I’ve got my replacement parts, it’s on.

I live in Minneapolis: I’m moving this week to North Carolina. I need to clean a Unitank and would like to hook it up to a CIP ball. Does anyone in the Twin Cities area have a 3” TC CIP BALL that you’d be willing to let me borrow for a day? I can leave a cash deposit with you if that helps...

Dry yeast does not require rehydration and also does not require aeration

Maybe I’m a cynic, but I have a hard time trusting “scientific study” claims when they are made by a manufacturer about their own product. They obviously benefit from the outcome.

Flour after crushing, toss it or use it?

I’ll echo what others are saying and add this: if you leave this out, your efficiency will take a hit. A little flour is normal. If you’re worried about stuck mash, I’d follow the advice and add rice hulls. You could also do a multi step mash or a decoction mash - this will help break down...
