    Adding some more keezer love

Time for a little update. I've been a bit busy/lazy so haven't exactly completed too much with the keezer. Looking back at how I framed it out, I wish I had done it differently. Instead of using the pocket holes I should have framed it like you would a wall. Would have made for a much sturdier...

Fermentation/Lagering Chamber build by a not so handy man.

I just use a hook and eye latch to keep my fermenter closed, works pretty well.

Setting up a Homebrew in Israel

Thats what I'm looking to get. Did you use over ripe (brown) bananas? And when did you add them?

Show us your sculpture or brew rig

Please tell me you have a link to that giant bag you use for mashing...that'd save me so much time cleaning up! Not to mention reduce tannins from the grain!

Setting up a Homebrew in Israel

Sorry to hear the banana beer got contaminated :( ...question though - was it supposed to have a strong banana taste/aroma? I've been working on a banana bread beer and am having issues getting a strong banana flavor from real bananas.

    Burning Smell

haha...as long as you turned it into a demo show for the equipment, then I think you'd be ok :D

    Burning Smell

Awesome, glad you ditched that space heater, I'd hate to see your house burn down, especially with all that beer! How's the heat pad been working for ya?

    Burning Smell

I've been a firefighter for 6 years and I've seen some nasty fires started by space heaters...I'd highly advise against using one even in a ferm chamber. Instead use one of these ceramic bulbs. MUCH safer. If it doesn't raise the heat enough, use 2 (i've been using em in both my fermentor and my...

    Fermentation explosion

i use a bucket too and havent had an explosion with a blowoff yet. i feel like using tht glass carboy as a primary is the issue...the shape of it forces the pressure over a smaller area and the weakest point (bung) blows off...I'm willing to bet if you used a bucket ud be fine.

    help me !!

If I were you I'd buy a locknut from bargain fittings (here - assuming that ball valve is 1/2" NPT). Then, you'll have the washer on the outside, gasket, locknut and bulkhead on the inside. is there a need for the bulkhead? I wouldn't bother with it if you aren't using a diptube

    help me !!

put the metal washer on the outside and the gasket on the inside...that's how i did my setup, haven't had a problem yet. Also, don't over tighten. Make it about hand tight plus a little...if that makes sense.

Getting a job in a brewery

Thing is, i prefer working with my hands over sitting at a desk which i've been doing for the past 6 years now.

Getting a job in a brewery

I've been having issues deciding what I really wanna do with my life. I started out going to school for fire science (to become a career FF) and then 2 years into the program said screw it. Then I started going for my computer graphics degree and got screwed over by my college for having "too...

    Adding some more keezer love

Got the lid mounted over the weekend... unfortunately i didn't give full thought to what I was doing. I measured where i wanted the holes, but didn't take into account of the plastic linear thats on the under side of the lid :o lol...oh well. I'll just be lining the inside of the lid with that...
