    So who's brewing this weekend?

Jealous. I live in australia, its an 8 month journey to anywhere lol. Feels like anyway haha. Enjoy the trip! This is how long i'd spend in a train to get to the interstate border. Mostly due to our old, slow trains, and going to Sydney first, but you can see why i'm jealous of your 2hr train...

    Any Mexican lager suggestions?

Yum! i think 940 is worth the effort of starters. I do use and like S189 and S23, for my usual rice lagers but 940 is, i feel, just another level up for character, even though i'd describe it as clean. I'm a week off my first beer in 2 months. With a keg of amber lager ( 940 ) that's been...

    Lallemand Verdant IPA yeast

I know you don't like it for British beers. I like it a lot for british beers as well as dark and hoppy beers. I think i'll try an IPA next though. I have lots of Centennial, and Cascade

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Not sure, but i think the success here of a craft beer that got bought out by bigger brewers ( Stone and Wood ) would probably have been a possible reason. It's very popular and consistently good on tap, in many places. Has been for a few years now, at least where i live. I drink it whenever i...

    Lallemand Verdant IPA yeast

I just bottled a 6%+ Cascadian ale with Verdant. Samples were great. I will be cracking a bottle as soon as they are carbed. Dry hopped with Centennial. I am a big fan of dark beer and dank hops. 2 packs and hit 75% attenuation. I may try a pale version next time.

    Low mash efficiency

I close the gap on my mill right down for wheat and run through twice.

    Are pull tabs comming back?

I was just thinking about that. Ginger beer is pretty much carbonated to the same "fizz", so why do we get Ginger beer in pull tabs but not beer?

What BIAB brewing actually is (Mythbusting for traditionalists)

By "here", i meant here in Aus, not here on HBT. Lots of our brew club at the time ditched the big systems for BIAB once they saw it.

What BIAB brewing actually is (Mythbusting for traditionalists)

I don't remember anyone being outright negative about BIAB here when it came around, just that i think a lot of people looked at big systems and scratched their head at the thought you could do it so simply.

What no one wants to say

Everyone without skin in the game is an expert lol. The reason the macros sell more beer than micros by an exponential factor is that it's just beer for most people. It goes with a shared experience ( BBQ etc ), it's not the sole reason for the experience. Not everybody worships at the altar of...

What BIAB brewing actually is (Mythbusting for traditionalists)

I totally understand some people love tinkering and building their system. I get that. Me, i work in maintenance, so i, like you, keep things as simple as possible for that reason, less maintenance. It's why i also only own japanese cars as well.

What no one wants to say

So, basically you want people to drink what you think is good beer, not what they think is good beer? And micros to brew what you think is good beer, not what they think is good beer?

What BIAB brewing actually is (Mythbusting for traditionalists)

When BIAB came about here, a lot of people were into huge, complicated 3V, usually on a big fabricated stand. I think a lot of the looking down on BIAB came because it was so simple, and took up no room. People had invested in pumps/trolley/temp probes, raspberry Pi etc I clearly remember the...

What BIAB brewing actually is (Mythbusting for traditionalists)

I'm sold on smaller kegs. I use 9.5L ( 3gal? ) rather than 19L kegs. They fit in the fridge better and i can also keg half and bottle half. Not that i like bottling, but it gives me options. I have a tiny 2L keg. I plan on using that for UK ales, if i ever get a beer engine. That way i can...
