    If you are brewing a 5 gal. batch with one full unit of yeast then just use what you have and DO NOT add to it. It should be more than enough.

    As long as you sterilized it useing heat and preassure, like with a presure cooker, then they will work perfectly. Refrigorate unused stuff and when you open the jar to use it make sure you have a nice flame within 3 feet to sterilize the air around you.
