    Using a burner indoors...

Haha, i'm fine. Just deciding what to do. It's almost brew time... it's in my basement, on a cement floor, but it isn't well ventilated, though I can change that... I think I'm gonna go through with it guys, I'll post in a few hours let you know how it went! Thanks for all the advice:]

quick partial mash question. (in a hurry!)

Doing my first partial mash tonight :mug:, just had a question. My LHBS guy was explaining to me what to do with AG, before we realized i didn't have the equipment or the willingness to spend money on the equipment to go straight AG, so he suggested PM. But he told me, with AG, I should...

I just poured a beer down the sink after one drink.

impatient: that particular brew might be awful, but amana as a whole isn't that bad. cmon between Old Maine and Amana we Iowans just have to settle for what's there (or of course, make our own brews) :p

    Using a burner indoors...

I just bought a burner last night, and i'm going to brew tomorrow. I want to use it, but is it safe to use it inside? I plan on keeping an eye on it the entire time, and opening a nearby door to give it oxygen. Still, I have worries. Advice?

    Cleaning questions.

So i'm a brew newbie (brewbie, if you will), and I just got my first keg set up (just a keg, CO2 tank, and regulator), but i'm having trouble cleaning it all. First of all what products would you recommend for cleaning purposes? I have P.B.W. for a stain-scrubber, and B-T-F for a sanitizer...

    My first kegging (need help!)

Should it spend the whole 10 days at refrigeration temp? Keep in mind I'm using my garage, which is about ~45 degrees, but that can be changed. Thanks for the help!

    My first kegging (need help!)

Okay so I've let my newest batch (a porter) sit in a primary fermenter for a couple weeks, and now I'm ready to transfer it to my first keg! It's just a little pony keg with a CO2 tank attached, but I have a few questions. Mark from my LHBS told me I didn't need to add priming sugar, because...

    mmmm gooood

Mirror Pond is a Pale Ale isn't it? I didn't think Deschutes made an IPA. But, as far as PA's go, it's phenomenal! They're just a pretty good brewery overall, imo. I'm still on 2 fermentors, just upgraded to a very small kegging system, so I can knock out the pain of bottling to an...

    2nd Batch Time

It looks great. The reading may be off because of a couple of different reasons, which is why i like to stir mine after i mix the wort/water and before I put the yeast in. Then I put the yeast on and give it a few very gentle stirs, but I guess that's not plausible in your carboy. Also pick...

    2nd Batch Time

You gotta understand man, this is a skill of guess-test-revise, and your first post didn't exactly invite responses besides "good luck!". So i'll be happy to give you a good luck:] but if you want tips/help you're gonna have to be a little more specific. a lot of threads go through here...

    Best Beginning Beer Brewing Books?

alliteration, anyone? Anyway, I'm just curious as to what book I should pick up next? Right now I'm just got John Palmer's How To Brew, which is infinitely helpful, but I'd like to add a couple books to my library, for cross-referencing, misc topics, etc... I'd also like books that focus...

    Need *QUICK* help!

Awesome, the brewing shall continue:] Didn't get to give a formal introduction before, I'm a 21 year old from central Iowa. Been brewing about 4-5 months, but had to take a 3 month break because of a job, and this is the first batch I've done since my hiatus, so I'm rusty. I'll get to my...

    Need *QUICK* help!

Hey guys, first post, been lurking for awhile though :P Anyway, I'm right in the middle of steeping my grains, when I realize that, while 3 pounds Light DME is on the ingredients list, it's not listed at what point to use it, at all! A little background, I'm making an Avery New World...
