    Ok i will taste this afternoon and i looked again and it looks like a bunch of little bumbles are surrounding these little white spots, does that help in determining if it's yeast or mold? Yeast I used was Wyeast 1056

    I think it is co2 because i was watching it last night and it looked like some bubbling had come up from the bottom and then settle at the top and cause this.

    yes its done fermenting it spent 7 days in primary and then i racked it to secondary 3 days ago. some people are saying to leave it and others are saying to bottle it...i have no idea whats best!:(

    FG was taken sunday afternoon and i do plan on bottling. I get so many different answers on here it's hard to know for sure. if there some kind of test i could do for mold if i take a sample of it out?

    OG was 1.060 and Fg was 1.014

    i did not cook pumpkin, i took it from the can and added my spices and then steeped it in a muslin bag...

    Everything had settled 24 hrs ago and then there were like maybe 12 little white spots and it looked like it has maybe doubled. When would i know if this is mold?

    No, it doesn't smell moldy. I just smelt it and it smelt like pumpkin and hops. So I guess that's a good sign.

    OG Way Off....help?

    i just took the FG today and it was 1.014 and it was supposed to be 1.018 so pretty close. so should i assume i had a 1.060 and just read it wrong because of the water i added?

    I just racked my beer into secondary fermentation and i still have a decent amount of room in the carboy...do i top it off with fresh clean water to the neck or leave it be?

    fair enough. Here is my recipe except i didn't use the white sugar. I steeped grain for 30 mins, boiled for 1 hr, cooled wort to just under 80 F and then added wort and then cold water to fermentation bucket. The OG was 1.040 but maybe it's because a lot of the wort was on the bottom and the...
