    First AG tomorrow

I intended for this one to be PM, but the grain bill was so small 8.75# that it all fit into my tun so I decided to just do a BIAB. I agree that AG isn't nearly as complicated as it seems. It can be made to be as complicated or as simple as you like.

My hybrid AG brewing technique. Anything horribly wrong doing it this way?

How much wort did you lose to absorption by the grain?

    First AG tomorrow

I know y'all are probably tired of these type of posts, but I am so damn excited I just got to tell. I am brewing my first all grain batch tomorrow. Trying BIAB for the first time. I am I am not sure what king of efficiency to expect, so I have a bag of DME around just in case I don't...

Planning first PM - couple of questions

This has morphed into a BIAB from a Partial Mash. I had planned to mash as much as possible in my 16 quart pot and use extract for the rest of the of the gravity points. The beer I am brewing is fairly small 1.039 OG, BierMuncher's Centennial Blonde. The 8.5 pounds of grain should fit...

Planning first PM - couple of questions

I am working out my first partial mash for this weekend. I have a 16 and 42 quart pots. I would like to mash all of my specialty grains and as much 2 row as possible in the 16 quart pot. Then sparge by dunking the bag in the remainder of my water @ 170 deg. I am planning on 50% efficiency...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

That's what I figured. Hopefully this will be a short stop on the way to all grain.

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Brewing this up this weekend. Planning on the extract version, as I haven't made it to all grain yet. Would this recipe benefit from a partial mash instead of using all extract? My guess it that the answer would be yes. I have never done a partial mash, but now seems like a good as any to...

    Bell's Oarsman Ale

I've had a Berliner Weiss a couple of times and really enjoyed them. They are unfortunately hard to find. I would like to brew something like this to keep around in the summer months. I think that something as sour as a B W might be a bit much for some of my guests, but I think I could get...

    Bad Backs + Carboys

I'd love to switch to ss when the funds allow. Where so you get your kegs, air locks, etc? I am not that familiar with using anything other than glass or bb.

Mail order yeast in summer = bad idea?

Add another to the list of those who ordered liquid yeast in the hottest part of the summer. I plan on making a starter way ahead of time. How long could I keep the starter in the fridge after it is ready? Would two weeks be too long?

    New Brewer from North Carolina

You are welcome to come by any time. My setup isn't very elaborate. I brew on my deck on a propane burner in a 10 gallon pot. I chill with an immersion chilled. I am going to try to brew this weekend. If I don't; it will probably in two more weeks. I will let you know.
