    Milwaukee Area Craigslist Kegerator- $75!!!

That looks almost identical to the one I have. It needs a lot of work, but with some work, it could eventually look like this. kvh

    Draft never tasted so good

What do you mean "off-the-wall"? Good? Bad? Unusual?? (probably that one). Granted, I *think* I created it from scratch, but that just means I pieced it together from everyone elses' recipes and added what I like. It turned out completely amazing. kvh

How many gallons of EdWort's Apfelwein have been made?

Had to make something in a hurry while a friend was in town. Due to time constraints we made this for the first time. Add 4 gallons to the list as of noon today. 1588 + 4 = 1592 awesome. kvh

    Draft never tasted so good

I don't have the tower hooked up yet, but I bought a cobra tap for emergencies... Ran all my regulators in succession, and hooked it up. As luck would have it, my brewing partner and the guy who got the two of us interested in homebrew arrived, literally dropped at my door by another friend...

    Culture/Test Tube Source

Neither did I. It might help a little to know where you are. I'd check school suppliers maybe.... ...Craigslist? I've got nothing. kvh

    Culture/Test Tube Source

American Science and Surplus has many useful things. Test Tubes and Flasks, (+ racks), Stir Plates + bar, Regulators (still!), and tons of other crap you don't actually need.

    Another good use for Starsan

Thanks - they do appear to be pop-tops. However, I'm in Baltimore and they're in Oregon. I haven't seen them out here. We happened to get ONE bottle of Red Stripe at our party last night. I'll be trying this out very shortly. I'll keep you all updated. KVH

    1st time using a secondary

I'm sure 2 weeks has done it good. I bet if you looked at the bottom you'd find a layer of yeast that you can now cross off the list of things you'll have in your bottles. 2 weeks is good, 3 would be OK too - Otherwise, bottle away! kvh

    Fermentor temperature controller

This is why you went to school for electrical engineering, and I went to art school.

    Regulator fittings question

My last part (mostly) just came from MicroMatic. I needed a new primary regulator to replace the dinosaur that came attached to my tank. I have a problem though: The space alloted in the back of the kegerator for a tank/regulator is about an inch too short. I found that I could I could put...

    will commercial keggerators work?

If the CO2 tank is empty? Close the valves and turn on the tank (main, big knob on top). If the regulator is attached, the gages will pop up to pressure. If it was already there, you can open a valve to the line and hear it hiss. That said, you may be on a nearly empty tank. If there are...

    Opening a Brewpub

When I was there, I asked them specifically if and where they brewed their beer, since it was so distinctive, so-named (light and dark) and I had recalled reading about them brewing their own, especially through Prohibition. The bartender answered that their beer is brewed off site for them...

My Brewery - looking for suggestions.

Do you have natural gas service in your house? Is there any chance you could run another gas line to the garage and run off of that? kvh

    Airlock beer

The whole point of secondary is to let things settle, away from the trub and yeast cake. This way there are less yeast and protein bits in the bottle/keg and so on. The only time you shoud be shaking is right as the yeast has been added. This give them oxygen to start. By the end, they...

    Fermentor temperature controller

Here's a bit about it: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=31506&highlight=%22heat+fermenting%22 I actually think I've heard people talk about as much as 6 degrees hotter. This is probably over a 5-gal batch, generally. kvh

Force Carb and Serving pressure question.

Does this still happen if there's a check-valve installed on the gas line?

Hey man, can you score me a lid, bro?

    DIY Randall/hopback

We were talking about this a while back: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=31662 I think the conversation petered out after the debate of what would hold pressure and what wouldn't- but in short, if you construct it the same way a keg is designed, just smaller, it should work...

Maybe a good deal on an second regulator?

Oh, well, I guess I thought most refridgerators, (and definitely my kegerator which has a drip tray under the cooling fins and drainage tube out the back to a bottom collection tray), naturally dehumidify. I guess chest freezers are a whole nother beast entirely. kvh
