12 Beers of Christmas 2019 Edition

TwistedGray can have my group 2 stout if he still wants it... I know he wanted to do that, and I did it in 2018 and don't mind passing the reins. I'll do the Fruitcake Old Ale instead if that's cool with everyone

12 Beers of Christmas 2018 Edition

I am by no means an expert but in the "instructions for packing" thread from 2012, they are not using nearly enough bubble wrap. Also for 3 beers you need a box at least 12x10x5 or so, because you need some space between the bottles and the box to absorb the shock.

    Old hops

You could brew a sour or start a solara... but that would not require very much hops at all, or maybe just use them to bitter and double or triple the amount for a desired IBU contribution. Personally I would just throw them away for anything but sours

    WLP 500 vs WLP 550

Anyone have direct comparisons? I want to use a single yeast for: Belgian Tripel Imperial Stout "Black Tuesday" inspired ultra high abv 19-20% stout (with WLP099 finishing)

12 Beers of Christmas 2018 Edition

All seasons??!! I love it. Spring could have earthy flavors, summer could be lagers, helles, etc. BTW I am interested in doing this again for 2019... this was really fun to do this year and I would definitely do it again

    Beer Advent calendar 2018

I did this in 2016... it was a fun idea but unfortunately all the beers sort of tasted the same to me. I ended up using them to marinade brats to bbq through the year.

    Coconut and Cacao Nibs?

I'm wanting to brew a Black Tuesday inspired very high abv stout. Black Tuesday is 19-20%abv and that is what I'm shooting for. I want to use coconut and cacao... any tips on them? How do you sanitize them for use if added to secondary? Thanks for any tips!

Okay group 2! Your Spiced Bourbon Stout is done! I'm calling it Krampus: He Knows When You Are Sleeping, He Knows You've Not Been Nice It sat in a 5gal Bourbon Barrel for 4 months so it is definitely a "bourbon stout". I'm not a huge spice fan but I added the spices anyway (that's the whole...

did you carb it when at room temp or when at keezer temps? If you unplugged the co2 when you put it in the keezer it wouldn't really be carbed at all...

    Hello from Poland!

I just had the Vermont IPA from PINTA brewery. I thought it was awesome to see a NEIPA coming out of Poland. Is there a big craft beer scene there?
