+1 on Smash. Its a great cheap way to get your AG process down and learn about ingredients at the same time. Just look at what kinds of hops and malts are used in your favorite beers and start using them.
I follow some of those, you might want to look up, flying dog, saranac, bells, beer wars, brooklyn brewery. Thats all i can think of off the top of my head.

Just use 1/2 cup dme and 2 cups water or any ratio of 1:4. Its just a starter as long as your between 1.035 and 1.06 i think your ok... You could probably just taste it and if it taste ok your good to go.
Yeah the I think you have the wrong FG. But anyway your going to want to leave your beer in the primary until fermentation has stopped. This means pretty much no bubbles in the air lock.
Dont add more yeast, if you fremented for 6 days you will be fine.

During fermentation your beer is usually a couple degrees warmer then room temperature.
And it probably wont completely go away but it could go down quite a bit.
Has any ever tried or does anyone think it would be an ok idea to bottle condition beer in a growler if you dip the top in wax to get a air tight seal?
I have a ton of growlers and was just trying to think of something to do with them.
