7 gallon SS Brewtech conical fermenter.

7 gallon SS Brewtech conical fermenter "standard edition". Used once. DOES NOT have ftss coil. I'm selling this with 2 different options. As it comes from ss brewtech with the standard ball valves as pictured in the first picture for $300 (plus actual shipping cost from 23456). I'd have to...

Stout God stole the body from my beers :\

Feel free to share this stout recipe with me. I'm due for a stout in the next few weeks, and am looking at something bigger than my (8% foreign Export/tropical) stout. Really like to get something like 10Fidy going.

Do I need this piece of hardware in between my regulator and co2 tank?

My integrated gasket leaks, so I use a single use fiber washer to seal mine (new one every time). In theory, the gasket should eliminate the need for anything else, but in my case, it doesn't.

    Blichman beer gun

Did you have a lot of foaming issues when bottling? What was your procedure for bottling? Purge keg? Lower pressure?

    Prost from Cville!

There are some good breweries in that part of VA. Richmond and Charlottesville (and even NOVA) all have higher quality breweries than the one's near me. There are plenty of "ok" ones to choose from though. Also in VA Beach.

I hate coffee, brown french fries, and dark toast, so I'll never find a stout I like right?

They are both available at total wine near me. I'll go pick up some lion today and see if I want to give it a shot or stick with my proven Dragon stout. *update: drinking a lion stout for the first time now. It's pretty good, but I think I prefer the Dragon stout over it.

I hate coffee, brown french fries, and dark toast, so I'll never find a stout I like right?

Another vote for tropical stouts. Dragon Stout (Jamaica) is a good one. Guinness Foreign Export is also a good one. Left Hand's "Fade to Black" foreign stout is also worth mentioning. I have not tried Lion Stout yet, but I'd like to see the recipe if you're sharing. I'm due for another stout and...

Lost rubber tip to beergun - solutions?

So it's a counterpressure filler that has a co2 purge line. There are 2 button valves, one for co2 in and the other to release the pressure in the bottle when filling. The beer-in is just a picnic tap wedged onto the stainless tube, similar to the common "no stinking beergun" method. The best...

Lost rubber tip to beergun - solutions?

So here's a couple pictures of the bottle filler I made. It works very well (might not be the prettiest), and addresses the problems that most have while bottling.

Lost rubber tip to beergun - solutions?

The blichman beergun is just not a great design. Even when you get it to work, it's not the best solution to bottling from a keg. Those rubber stoppers are a pain, but I guess the 2nd version had a slightly different stopper setup (probably due to complaints). I have a beergun collecting dust...

    5 liter flask capability.

I've fit a little over 5 liters in my 5 liter flask when using lager yeast. I don't make it that big when using ale yeast though.

    Homemade mustards

I will be attempting to make a mustard similar to this, except I'll be using leftover brine from some fermented pepper hot sauce that I made using scotch bonnets and Moruga Red Monsters. It will definitely be some HOT mustard.

    First-time Lager Mystery WTF

Yes they are 2 different yeast. However, the term lager refers to the "cold storage conditioning" not just the type of yeast.

    First-time Lager Mystery WTF

Haha... Exactly. Wait, unless you're on the "warm fermented lager" thread. Then anything can be called a lager (according to the participants).

    Beer Advent calendar 2018

The big German breweries' Helles's are certainly not flavorless. The few in the advent calendar are a little on the lighter (flavor) side. The Helles is a great beer to really test brewing skills because there's nothing to hide behind. Pilsner flaws can hide behind the hops (especially the bad...

    Blichmann Fermenator Revelation

Seems like the best way to wrap up this ridiculous topic.

    Blichmann Fermenator Revelation

I would say the beer COULD go bad. Of course "bad" is subjective, but wet cardboard, or sherry, or however people like to describe oxidized, isn't "good".
