Yeah, I'm talking about lower gravity beers. I'd never try pitching a single dry packet into a high gravity beer.

I'm still a new brewer, but I've gotten full attenuation from just pitching dry packets straight into the fermentor without re-hydrating first, so far. The beers I've made have tasted great, so I probably won't bother changing what works.

This is some thread necromancy here, but I did this extract kit yesterday and it's fermenting like crazy right now. I'm looking forward to sampling this one in several weeks. Anybody else do this one, either all grain or extract?

My folks live just outside Baltimore and just called to say they have 26ish inches of snow. Unreal.

I just finished bottling a Northern Brewer Nut Brown Ale kit and it told me to use two cups of water and 2/3 cup of the dextrose included in the kit. I did so and now the bottles are priming - so we'll see how it goes.

It was below zero with the windchill when I left for work this morning. I think we might get to 15 or so degrees by 2PM this afternoon. I'd rather deal with 82 degrees, myself.

Pretty sure Home Depot buckets aren't technically food grade and guys ferment their beer in those all the time with no ill effect.

I just tasted the leftover beer from my last hydrometer reading and it gave me gas very quickly from just a couple of sips. I don't know if this bodes well for when it's all done being bottled, etc.
