    I have stopped making 4 gallons of starsan on bottling day and submerging the bottles to sanitize. I now use the bottle squirter that sits on top of the bottle tree and don't worry about it.

    Sanitation.

    It is just the make up of your home water that can cause the starsan mix to immediately cloud up. Has no effect on the pH (I check with strips) or the sanitizing effects. I use it cloudy for weeks with no issues..........let me find some wood to knock on.

    Has anyone done a clone of this beer and instead of using the Sterling/styrian combo, use only aged hops? I have 10oz left of some and was hoping to use them up. Any potential downsides with adding 2-3 oz aged hops at the start and nothing else for the boil?

    PB2 flavor in a porter?

    I have used PB2 in the boil before. I was planning on the same brew to boil it with some water and use it for secondary also, however instead I picked up Watkins peanut butter flavoring and put a little in at bottling. It was a hit.

    I have only mashed with it. However I would assume (not based on experience) that it would cause some haze and really pumpkin has no intrinsic flavor. I don't think it would do much good, IMO.
