    Primary is too full......help

I have had that happen before, now I use blowoff tubes on my primary's...... What I did do is cut a hole on the top of the of the airlock cap so that it will ooze out and not clog, just make sure the hole is not big enough for the lock to come out, you need to keep the seal with liquid...

    Bottle labels off...

Also....... after you use and drink the beer, rinse it quickly to empty the remaining beer out and save it....... that keeps the mold from gowing and is really easy to clean for the next use.

    Bottle labels off...

I soak in really hot water with liquid soap for about 15-20 minutes in the sink, peal the lable off and use a stiff brush or scrub pad for the glue....... then brush the inside. Now the bottles have no lables or sludge on the bottom.

    Rube style secondary

That would work and I did that years ago in the beginning..... just keep everything sanitized, your twice as likely to have problems.......

    Stronger ALC%

Add another pound of malt that matches what comes in the kit and ferment it for longer. I have done this several times and it has worked nicely.........

    Exploding bottles

wow....... I have had this happen a couple of times, I would imagine that is prob was overfilled or not fermented enough. I would try using a few tablespoons less of priming sugar, or fill the bottle less, also check the bottles, maybe they are not in great shape. A few years back I left a...

I have been waiting ages to get it and for Chirstmas it was under my tree, a kit for Barley Wine...... its supposed to be around 10% alcohol.... 2 Packages of Amber, dry malt extract with Bittering hops (Nugget) already mixed into the dry malt 1 Package containing Crystal, Roasted Barley...

    Irish Stout

I always feel my beer is hoppy durring the bottling, after the carbination and some aging the beer "sweetens" a bit in taste. I made a Kolsh beer a year ago that tasted pretty bad in my opinion, I did not drink many of them and they sat, then I had no other beer around and about a year later...

    Sterilizing

I use iodine. I thought rinsing with cold water was the way to go, hot water from the hot water heater is more likely to have bacteria in it. Not sure if its true..... but I also only cook with cold water.

    what do i need

I have a press capper, like one for putting corks in wine bottles. And I have used the same bottles for years with no problems...... I have to say go with glass bottles if you are going to age the beer for months. I always make a batch and put a 12 pack on the side to drink like 9-12 months...
