    this is mind-boggling...

Very true...I watched the videos thinking to myself how it must be nice to have such a clear-cut goal....assuming he has one. There is something very Zen about it....reminds me of a Japanese rock garden that you rake...just to rake. Plus, he gets to play with some pretty bitchin' toys. I can...

"Beer machine" w/ one bag of mix

Anyone interested in my used Beer Machine? Might be good for small test batches or something. I just recently bought a new main seal for it, new set of side clamps, and some mixes. Only one mix left...I think it's a Dutch lager or something. $50+shipping?

    this is mind-boggling...

You could, but it might take him 15 years. Plus he's pretty busy...digging out his basement with toy trucks.

Who didn't grow up drinking those beers? In the US anyway. +1 on Shocktop. Had a couple after someone left them after a party...ew. Totally agree on your assessment. To each his own though, lots a people love it. I'm no fan of any fruity beers really

    what is this?

Ah! Not sure if that T thing is for Oxygenating the wort or not, but that's what I might use it for! Hookup my bike pump to it and attach some tubing on the open end. Or would that increase chances of infection? Pumping ambient air into the wort?

    Results! (with pictures)

My first brew has been in primary for a week, an American IPA. Hope it looks 1/2 as good as yours does Triage! I'm brewing a Belgian Tripel this weekend...filling the pipeline! Gotta say, the suspense is killing me... as well as having to drink store-bought.

    what is this?

They def look drug related, but I agree the T thing must be for pressurizing some how, and the other thing...no idea. Maybe for a blow-off tube to attach to a FV? I'll let them both go for the right price. Maybe I'll donate them to the HB museum!

    what is this?

I bought some used brewing stuff and these two things were included and I was wondering if anyone knows what they are. The T-shaped thing has a schrader valve on te long end, a set screw with a rubber washer on a nut on one end and a hole on the other. I also got one of these so I assume it...

    Recipe Feedback IPA first brew

Not to hijack, but I'm making my second batch this weekend (first was an extract kit that's fermenting nicely), and I'm wondering for the folks that buy in bulk, do you make the same beer every time? I'd love to get to $20 or less per 5 gal. The kits get expensive, and I don't need the priming...

    suggestions for 2nd batch?

I think I'm going to do the Brewer's Best Belgian Tripel. Pretty sure my LHBS will have it. I'm pretty sure that's the style I'm looking for although I don't think I've ever had a Belgian Tripel before. Can't wait!!

    suggestions for 2nd batch?

Hey guys, I made my 1st beer last weekend, Brewer's Best American IPA extract kit w/ special grains, and after reading lots of posts on this forum, I'm going to skip racking to a secondary (glass carboy) and instead brew a second batch to primary in the carboy. This, of course, in a effort to...

    questions about my tap shank

I hooked up a line to it and I have a strong mix of oxyclean sitting in the pipe. I already see tons of particles of gunk in the line. Think that's good enough?
