    Possible Stupid Question

Hey Guys, Been brewing for a while and became pretty used to the process. Just moved my fermentation to from a colder room in my house to an actual converted freezer ferm chamber. Does this control, and fermenting at a lower temp 62-64 compared to 68-72, make the fermentation take a...

    Cider Keg in 2 Weeks?

Hey Guys, Made my first cider 2 weeks ago, I see that aging of 4 weeks or more is recommended...but I have seen fermentation through, hit my numbers a few days ago and bubbles have been done for about a week. I am looking to back sweeten today with some concentrate and keg either tomorrow...

What to buy next to improve the quality of my beer?

I would have to say the mill, especially if you are looking to get better efficiency and more flexability when it comes to storing grains versus being rushed to brew the premilled grains before the quality starts to drop. I bought the monster mill and saw my efficiency immediately increase.

    Edelmetall or Blichmann

I have owned both and 100% say that blichmann is far superior. When in doubt, go with the blichmann, their products just seem to work exactly how they are supposed to, never any surprises.

    Mixed-Style Beer 10-42 Shandy

Sorry if somebody already suggested this, but I just kegged a beer I have dubbed Fo' Shandy or (faux shandy) as I didnt use lemonade, but instead used a good bit of Sorachi Ace hops in order to bring out the lemon. I also added 3lbs of mixed frozen berries and I have to say it turned out...

FT: Westy12 or BCBS Coffee ISO: Barrel Aged Dark Lord

I have access to Heady, Pliny, Tropicalia, Hopslam - do any of these interest you? I have been looking for Westy for a while. I know my trades aren't nearly as hard to find as what you have, but I have access to some special cigars as well that I could throw in if you happen to partake.

    Vanilla Beans

I have had great luck with Vanilla Beans. Just order off Amazon from Beanilla; Pick your flavor (madagascar, mexico, indonesia). For a stronger beer like a porter use 4. I just used 3 in my cream ale. Split open and scrape the innards, chop them up, sanitize however you like, I prefer a...

    Looking For Some Nitro Clarity

Hello all! So I am going to ask some questions I should probably know the answer to, but I need to swallow the old pride and make sure I am proceeding correctly. I have had my nitro tap for the last 10 months but only used it once and was not 100% happy with the results. May have been the...

    Pumpkin Beer - No fermentation

Good morning all, I did a Dunkelweizen with pumpkin this past weekend, it is the first time I have tried a pumpkin beer. I used the Dark German Wheat yeast smack pack, and it seemed underinflated when I pitched. So I gave it a day and nothing. I had some extra Safale-05 so I tossed that in...

Brewing consistency and a newbie brewer.

Demand and personal taste dictate my rebrews. My pale ale is liked by a lot of my friends and myself so I always try to keep it on tap. However all the others rotate. I think we brew what we want to drink so as long as you crave it, brew it!

    Couple of Questions

So I am doing my first Saison with the PC 3031 yeast strain which has brett. First question - do I open ferment this or ferment it just like any other beer? Second: I want to add French Oak chips. Is 4oz a good amount or do I need more? TIA
