    DME/Water Ratio for Starter ?

So, I just made a tester starter, minus the yeast pitching. I used 1500 ml of water and 150 grams of DME. My OG, using a refractometer was 1.045. I am assuming that is too high? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Formula Questions: Please Help

so, no mash out when you batch sparge? [ QUOTE=duboman;5749549]Yes, but with fly sparge you will want to do a mash out to stop/halt further conversion since it's a slower process, otherwise conversion can continue throughout the sparge process.

    Formula Questions: Please Help

Hypothetically speaking, I could still fly sparge and just add a little extra water (over my estimated amount of calculated sparge water) to my HLT and stop fly sparging once I hit my pre-boil amount?
