    Meat Grinders

Watch Black Friday deals for LEM and MEAT brands. Just make sure that they are the stainless models.

    Meat Grinders

Forgot to mention- When I was obsessing over grinders, I came across several reviews of less expensive units where the users claimed that the throats and augers would streak their meat (no jokes allowed) with a gray color. Not sure if that’s aluminum or some crazy cheap metal mix. I’m not a...

    Meat Grinders

The biggest difference in those prices are the materials of the auger, blades, throat (?). The higher price gets you stainless steel as opposed to aluminum. Those pieces are the only pieces to touch your meat. I paid a higher price for a Meat brand 3/4 hp grinder with stainless parts (LEM and...

That’s a great idea to throw shrimp in the sauce. I’ll have to try that soon.

Are there any cyclist in the group?

Also- a coworker has the Wahoo and I do like the simplicity and the screen size. He loves it.

Are there any cyclist in the group?

Apologies for taking a slight detour from app discussion- Which gps/computers are people using? I’m in the market for one and it seems like there are a few good ones out. I’m looking for max battery life. My dream is doing a few multi day bike packing trips. I’m leaning toward the garmin edge...

I use alder pellets. Like mentioned above- fruits wood works as well. Just nothing heavy like oak or mesquite.

    Any Duramax owners?

Thanks smcinco. Unfortunately my wife has the world's best sniffer and she hates the smell of older diesels. Driving down the highway she can smell a 7.3 or Cummins before I can see it. I have a couple of relatives with the older LBZ or LLY and they both have had great luck with those motors...

    Any Duramax owners?

From 2015 to 2019ish, in a 2500. I’m looking to purchase a 3/4 ton Chevy and have been looking for the gasser 6.0, but finding one w lower miles that hasn’t been beaten down is like finding unicorn. Many more of the 2500’s were sold w the duramax. Many diesel owners will have you believe that if...

Why I love making beer - magical and mysterious ways

There’s so much to love about the whole thing, here’s a few highlights- - I thoroughly enjoy my brew day. I love to zone out and rely on muscle memory. From crushing grains to the clean up, the whole day I’m in a great mood. - I’m not a whimsical person but there’s magic happening in those...

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

The Blazer and Equinox are both good looking ev’s. At least the exterior is. I was recently in a friends Toyota BZsomething something and I really liked the ride feel and the interior was modern without being space shuttle-y.

What did I cook this weekend.....

Thanks to @VApatriot For the recipe link. Ours wasn’t as pretty. I think we used a smaller pie pan so the peaches weren’t visible. I also threw an audible by adding some blackberries that I picked along my bike ride this morning. The pie turned out absolutely delicious and pretty damn easy to make.

What did I cook this weekend.....

As far as I’m concerned there are two types of people in this world. One who truly enjoy the magnificent green Chile and the other who were born without taste buds.

What did I cook this weekend.....

Believe it or not, right at my neighborhood Fred Meyers. I was in there and noticed they had Hatch peppers for sale in little 2 or 3 lb bags. I asked the produce guy if they had more in the back and he asked me if I wanted a whole case. I said, "you know it". I was actually shopping online and...

What did I cook this weekend.....

Managed to source a case of Hatch chiles in Oregon. My neighborhood should thank me for creating the heavenly aroma of roasting chiles. I roasted, peeled and vac packed about 30 lbs. Should last me til at least next year.

    Orange Sage Mead

I've done similar w orange blossom honey, seville orange peels and habaneros. It's been years but it was very tasty. IIRC, it was in the 14/15% range. I'm thinking this will be similar except instead of heat, it'll have that counter balance with herbs.
