I'm tuned in. There is potential here.

Single Tier, 3 Pump, BCS-462, Automated Rig

I've been sketching out designs for my own stand while deployed for the last month. I've come up with a few different variations, but I keep coming back to one design. I was killing time and clicked on the DIY thread to find this. This is almost exactly what I dreamed up, only better. Nice...

    Homebrew Club Fayetteville, NC??

I don't know what it went for either. I saw it last week, but had to pop out to Oklahoma on e-leave this week. I'm gone til Monday, so you guys have fun at the Ale house.

Reelale, I saw that sucker last week and thought it would be perfect for someone on the forum. I have a True TDD-2 and love it. If the compressor runs, it is worth buying. It doesn't even have to cool, just run. The only expensive part of these units is buying a new compressor, but with...

Triangle Wine Company 144 Brucewood Rd, Southern Pines 28387 It is by Kohl's on the road that connects 15-501 to Morganton, where the old K-mart was years ago. They don't have brew supplies yet, but are preparing to carry them. They have an amazing beer selection though. Talk to Chris when you...

I'm immune to the drive. I make it every day. Cutting through Bragg makes a huge difference.

    Homebrew Club Fayetteville, NC??

I'm in! Let's do this thing. As for the discussion on supplies, I get what I can at Grapes and Hops, but I generally leave disappointed. However, I have new hope. Triangle Wine Company just opened up a second location in Southern Pines. They have an extensive beer selection, and after spending...

starting a hop farm 2 acres to start..then double every year till i hit 32 acres

Awesome read and great timing. I'm ten years from an Army retirement, and the wife and I are having serious discussions about starting a farm to mug style brewery. We are looking at property in a few states and trying our best to get educated now. My intent was to timber farm until I retire, the...

Munton's CarbTabs Are Horrible - DO NOT EVER BUY THEM! (a fellow home brewer's rant)

Actually, I used 5 tabs for high carbonation as per instructions.

Munton's CarbTabs Are Horrible - DO NOT EVER BUY THEM! (a fellow home brewer's rant)

I've had a spiced winter ale carbed with Munton's in the bottles for four weeks now. I popped my first at 3 weeks...and got nothing. There was bottle pressure, but no carbonation of any sort to note in the beer. I just popped another at 4 weeks, after creating a slight increase in temperature...

Dude, that almost made me shoot coffee through my nose. Pure awesome.

    Air in racking line...

I definitely narrowed it down to trub clogging up the spout. So now I have to wonder how to clear it if it happens again mid-fill.

    Air in racking line...

I'm a new brewer, sort of. I've done about 20 batches thus far. I'm posting this in bottling/kegging, but it hapened twice tonight. Once when transferring to a keg, once when transferring to secondary. During the transfer from my spigot, I started to get air in the line. On the keg, it ended...

    Winter Warmer stagnating

The gravity today was only 1.050. That isn't much movement in a month's time. I took the chance to dry pitch some Danstar Nottingham in the batch and hopefully revive it.

Perlicks and towers: what's it worth?

Victory! Reelale and I were tracking the same auction. He won the lot, and will be parting it out. I got exactly what I wanted from the lot, and nothing more to deal with. A win for me, a win for him. Hit him up in the classifieds because he's about to be moving a lot of Perlick 425s and panel...

Perlicks and towers: what's it worth?

Well, I already have the 4 tap commercial kegerator, but with crappy faucets and a less than stellar gas system. A 4 way panel regulator is easily $400. So if I were to snag the stash for around that number, I could sell off the remaining bits and break even I suppose. That's where this is going.

Perlicks and towers: what's it worth?

So I did a preview on an auction today and saw something that caught my eye: a twin tower with 10 Perlick faucets! So, I'm interested. Then I saw this regulator system! So now I'm really interested! I talked to the staff, and they said that the whole pallet was being auctioned off...

    Winter Warmer stagnating

Malta Goya is a great way to make a starter. I don't have a brew shop close by, and it easier to keep around than DME. Basically, I pay about $8 for a 12 pack of 12oz bottles. That yields me 4 starters. A little more expensive than DME, but super convenient and quick. It isn't hurting anything...
