    Summer Cider

interesting. Personally as much as I would like to find pressed cider, its too expensive. Im sure you can get a better product, but part of the reason I like cider this way is because its cheap. In regards to years, I will take that info to mind for the next batch :)

    Apple/pineapple

I once did a small batch of apple with 1 can of pineapple juice. It was HORRIBLE once done. I ended up storing it under the stairs and forgot about it for about a year. I went back and tried it, and it was AMAZING. just dont expect to drink it any time in 2012

    Help for a cider noob?!

I would say just bottle as normal and give it 3 + months. The taste and some times smell gets a lot better with time.

Im not sure what the exact temp would be to be honest but its not hot or cold... So room temp. I think i will ad yeast this weekend with a eye dropper as suggested. The caps are on tight, if they were the problem i would think a few would be carbed up which doeant seem the case. I wont ad...

one month and beer hasn't carbonated

Also i assume i shouldnt add more sugar. If it matters im keeping my beer in a old fridge with the power off. It keeps it just above room temp

one month and beer hasn't carbonated

I dont want to toss it thats for sure. I think i will either add more years and/or sugar. I dont want to make bombs tho. I havent heard of big beers taking longer. This might be the case, its just frustrating. Any other batch i have done usually carbs to some degree after a few weeka

one month and beer hasn't carbonated

Its been a month since bottling my beer and there is no carbonation. I had it it the secondary for over a month. Im starting to wonder if i should added yeast when bottling. Ive never had this problem. Im thinking of tossing it unless anyone can give me ideas of how to save it

    beer hasnt carbonated

I made a winter beer that has aged in the secondary for roughly 3-4 weeks. I bottled it about a week and a half ago. I tried one beer and there was NO carbonation, and ZERO Head to the beer. I have never had this issue and there should be carbonation after this amount of time. I guess I will...

    aging in pastic carboy?

the oak I have is actually like shavings, not sure if my brew store had anything else. I have read its best to steam them, so I think I will put them in the top of my rice cooker to steam them. I know the plastic bucket isnt the best option, but might be easiest for clean up. The only way I see...

    aging in pastic carboy?

I am planning on adding some oak and dry hopping my beer. I have a glass carboy for secondary but it has a narrow neck and will be no way to add the oak in it. Im thinking i will rack into the glass carboy, clean the plastic bucket, the rack back into plastic bucket so i have room to ad the oak...

pitching yeast in cold wort? Bad?

Guys, last night I made a batch of beer, and I was in a bit of a rush. I rehydrated my yeast as I was adding the cold water to my wort. The yeast foamed up nicely and I was about to ad it to my wort but I noticed the side of my carboy was pretty cold. I filled it up all with cold tap water...

recipes for first all grain brew?

Thanks for the replies. I think I will take a look around and see what I like, but if the beers recommended have good results then I will stick to one of them I think. At this point I want a few all grain brews under my belt before I screw around too much, but once I am there I will change...
