Münchener Dunkel Ale or India Dunkel Ale?

Yeah Bry-97 is quite similar to US-05. And both could be successfully used to make "ale-lagers". But that wasn't my point. I've quickly put together a recipe that could be a Münchner India Dunkel Ale. 100% Munich Dark K-97 which is a neutral top yeast. Alternatively US-05 or S-04. German...

Münchener Dunkel Ale or India Dunkel Ale?

This ain't a style, but still assumes that someone has tried to make a Dunkel Ale or IDA with Munich Dunkel as the base. The Germans have come up with more hops targeting Pale Ales and IPA. It will hardly surprise anyone if there are BJCP definitions of German IPA and pale ale in a couple of...

Historical Beer: Kentucky Common "Kiss Yer Cousin" Rye Kentucky Common Ale

Have anyone any thoughts about waterprofile? The beer have similarities with both Cream Ale and California Common. And could be seen as a mix of those. But the waterprofile of those beers are quite different. Cream is normally quite balanced or slightly chloride based. While Cali Common is...

    What should I brew next?

Cool report when you've brewed it. I've played with a couple of Biere de Garde Ambree recipes, but haven't concluded yet. https://share.brewfather.app/4mNa8fB19Zd3F2 https://share.brewfather.app/2Jx9UTW48qPBHQ

    What should I brew next?

I haven't thought of a Amarillo wit. Amarillo works excellent with wheat, currently I have a white IPA with Amarillo and Wai-Iti. Quite satisfied with that. Amarillo wit is on the list.

    What should I brew next?

Yeah a Nelson wheat/blonde seems tasty 🤔. After making this thread my head started spinning a bit. The Trillium street series have just Columbus on the hotside. I could easily do a spilt exchanging El Dorado with Ariana/ Nelson into 2 fermentors. Alternatively use Amarillo/ Yellow Sub into 2...

    What should I brew next?

I've stacked up on some hops, and to be fair I don't have a plan for all of them. Anyone who would like to come with some ideas? What I have: Well known varieties: Amarillo 8 oz (no problem to throw these into an IPA or a wheat ale). Columbus 12 oz (I plan to use this in a Trillium inspired...

Dry yeasts identified - your opinions please!

@frankvw @dmtaylor Don't know if this german comparison between Brewferm Blanche-Godzawa Classic Belgian Wit is of any interest for your spreadsheets. https://hobbybrauer.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=719 They also have a Godzawa experience thread for anyone interested...

BE-256 dry Fermetis 'abbey'; has anyone used it , results?

Having brewed a dark strong (1.070) with BE-256 would you recommend a carbonation yeast? Primary fermentation is mostly done. Would you recommend to move the beer to a secondary after a week? Some sources recommends this others don't care so much. BTW Belgian brewery Glazen Toren have stacks...

French IPA - Looking for feedback & suggestions

Thanks. I haven't tried any of these yet, so I'm open to suggestions. The Mistral description doesn't look like a spicy noble hop. If I want to go French Strisselspalt seems like a decent option or the before mentioned Triskel. How would your hop schedule look like in an ambree Biere de Garde?

French IPA - Looking for feedback & suggestions

Thanks for your review. I consider Barbe Rouge and Mistral in an ambree Biere de Garde. Using K-97. Most likely I'll use the grist from Jenlain clone as a base. https://beerandbrewing.com/biere-de-garde-in-the-style-of-jenlain-recipe/ Much less hops here than a IPA. I thought 15 IBU BR...

I sent CML an e-mail. This is the reply I got. Not saying very much.

Dry yeasts identified - your opinions please!

Thanks that informing. Even if CML is UK based they seem to ship worldwide. I suppose this could be interesting to others in this thread. Btw I found this thread which is quite long. https://www.thehomebrewforum.co.uk/threads/new-cml-yeasts.81615/ And a bit shorter thread...

Dry yeasts identified - your opinions please!

Anybody who wants to try to guess where the Crossmyloof Brew is from? They seem to have a wider selection than MJ. I've also added Brewly from thehomebrewery.eu who claim theirs are made in Sweden, which could be true, as there is a company i Sweden making contracted beer yeast. I've tried to...

Dry yeasts identified - your opinions please!

Thanks for clarifying. I wasn't aware of the Verdant qualities, so I will do a 50/50 Nottingham/ Windsor for my next beer. But more importantly is the latest version of @dmtaylor the one listed in the second post? Apperently last updated sept 2019.

Awesome work here. Lallemand Verdant isn't much debated here I've read elsewhere it's close or the same strain as WY1318, WLP013

    Waterprofile Golden Ale

Wow! Thank you both for using time to educate and guide me :) The hops are leftovers from a Burton Ale, which I'm making for maturing towards the darker times. I might adjust the water profile here as well, but I actually found inspiration for this profile after reading a comment by @mabrungard...

    Waterprofile Golden Ale

Thanks for offering detailed insight. This is very interesting. And you might very well be correct. I still have a few weeks to investigate and learn. I've had the impression that Pale Ales normally are have a bit of crystal/ amber etc and more hops than a Golden Ale. Surely there are...

    Waterprofile Golden Ale

Thanks, that seem to Burtonize the water quite a bit. Might be a bit to much? Wheeler Dry Pale Ale ca190 mg15 na30 cl165 so330 hco40 @mabrungard are you able to offer some advice.
