    Recipe Review: RIS

Dads up for the weekend so we are going to brew up something to celebrate his retirement in 6 months. I have patched this recipe together from a few RIS ones on this board. Am I missing anything? Look balanced enough? Thanks for the help Recipe Specifics Batch Size (Gal): 6.00 Wort...

Review my first shot at a recipe please

Well those are certainly the characteristics I am going for. I am not a fan of Bitter (yet) but I love the floral. I think I might move the 10 minute to 1 or 0 min. With the FWH and the 60 I think I will have more than enough acid. This is fun. I wish it didnt take 6-7 weeks before I knwo...

Review my first shot at a recipe please

Yeah, half a pound, not 5 oz. Me No Typem 2 good. As far as the grain bill, I want a good base but its more of a platform for the hop flavor and aroma. I might drop the Maris and up the 2 row just to keep things simple. Do you leach much acid from the hops at flame out?

Review my first shot at a recipe please

I hope I make some sense here. I have brewed for a bit but this is my first time taking the wheel! I am going for a lighter IPA. I am blending a few recipes. Essentially, I am looking for some of the hops complexity of Loose Cannon with a lighter malt profile. I love the clean crispness of...

Suicide Blonde label - concept to completion

You have a great hand for illustration. Really tight. My Crit would be...The type is competing with the image. It could use a color change or a possition change. I think it falls easily where its at... epicenter... but I would suggest being as soft and concerned with the type as you were the...

Oatmeal Stout Best Laid Plans [Oatmeal Stout]

This is next in line for me. I am thinking about racking it onto some wood chips. How do you think it would handle the added flavor?

    Warming blanket for temp control?

A heating pad has worked well for me. I strap it to the fermenting bucket with a few old canoe tiedown straps. I put it on the opposite side of the thermometer strip. I find I need to turn it on for 30 mins-an hour in the morning and at night. Just to bump it back up to 65. With a blanket around...

New label please let me know what you think

Saying something in contrast to Revvy just seems wrong... I like it, I like the intensity. Heavily hopped beer can be a kick to the head (my opinion) Why shouldnt the label let the Drinker Beware.... I bet it looks sharp in your fridge. Jason

    Critique my logo

You have quite a bit going on with this piece. Logo's work best when they communicate a message in the simplest form. Think about what you want to say? Is it something that is different about you or what you brew? Think Black and White first. Then add in color. That will help you be singular...

    Logo for my homebrew labels

I wouldnt worry too much about it unless you are ready to start selling. but on track to what you were asking... the logo has a nice fun feel to it. It will communicate well on a bottle... and someday maybe a shirt. Good luck. Jason

    Logo for my homebrew labels

David, If you are interested in marketing your product than check the name here: http://www.uspto.gov/trademarks/index.jsp You can search the registered names, both living (the name) or dead. There are different lists or groups that you can register under. For example, you can have a...

Graphic designers.. I am looking to make a label

R2-D2 is obviously a very humble, talented and generous person. (Nice work by the way) Just an FYI for anyone who is lucky enough to get a gift of design from a pro (like him). Most agencies charge many thousands of dollars for an Identity package. Granted, if you just want a cool logo on...

    Keeping the Bottles Warm

I live in Maine, in a 245 year old house. Insulation means another sweater. Its pretty hard for me to keep anything warm. What I have done with success is to put the bottles in a Rubbermaid container. Fill it up to the curve of the neck of the bottles with water. Then use a fish tank heater to...

    Over One burner or Two?
