    Cascades in Key West

I put mind in these, http://www.lowes.com/pd_192858-36572-HDR-506695_0__?productId=3605706 for that specific reason. This way I have them in something large enough for them to grow, but I could still bring them in if need be.

    Cascades in Key West

So now we have Hallerau and Columbus in Orlando, Cascade in Key West and Centennial, Willamette, Galena, Magnum and Fuggles growing around Tampa. Between all of us we should be able to figure out what grows in Florida. I'm sure I've missed some, we should try and compile a list of who is...

    Cascades in Key West

Great Lakes Hops is a great place to start. I just got three plants from them and all three were very healthy and happy. After four days in the ground on already seeing growth.

    First Year Hop Growers

I only planted mine on Thursday and I already have a bine that's 2-3 inches long and little buds shooting up all over the place. I have a feeling once they wake up out of hibernation, they explode. Not sure how well they would do inside for two months, they might get too big for you. But...

    First Year Hop Growers

I just bought some from them, three crowns.... But Like Sweetcell said I do live in Florida so my planting season is now. Plants showed up looking healthy, large root system and still very moist even after being shipped cross country. Great operation they have there.

Does recycled pond water count? Kinda close.... Haha

Growing Hops In Florida Tampa Area

I just planted Centennial, Galena and Willamette about a week ago, I'm in the North Tampa area. We'll have to compare growing notes to see which plants grow better down here. Got mine from Great Lakes too.

    Cascades in Key West

I've got them in plastic half barrels now, I think they should be big enough. The only thing I'm thinking is the holes I drilled might not be big enough. I drilled probably about 12-15 but I only used a 1/4in drill bit, probably should have gone for a 1in hole but fewer of them. Oh we'll, all...

    Cascades in Key West

I've got Centennial, Willamette and Galena crowns in their pots now. Thanks for all the good advice in the thread, it's given me ample push to give growing a try myself. If they can grown in South Florida, mid Florida should be not too different.

Where can I buy sprouted Hop Plants in Southern Cali?

Great Lakes Hops has crowns ready to ship all the time. I just got my shipment in from them, great people to deal with. Just send them a message on FB or call, they don't have a separate website anymore.

American Amber Ale Caramel Amber Ale

Just bought the supplies for my first non-kit and first All-grain recipe, can't wait to taste this one. Ended up buying the Belgian candi this time, wanted to simplify the process a little but I'm sure I'll probably make it next time.

    Wiring Thermostat Control

I've had this one now for a month or so and wired it similar to the way Passedpawn did. If you go to their website, you can find a much better wiring diagram which helps show exactly what to do. This is exactly what I did.

Just let it age a little more

Here is another lesson on never pouring out your batch until it’s aged. I bottled my first batch about 3 weeks ago, knowing that there was a good chance that I had screwed it up but figured why not, I’ve already put in all the work and it can’t hurt to see how it came out. To...

    Question about fermentability and attenuation

I'll let some of the more senior members chime in too but the way I understand it you are correct.

Vdubs are nice cars but that's not where the name came from. My initials are DW, hence Ddub.

    Bottle conditioning in warm climates

Shocking enough it's the SWMBO who keeps the temp up in the 78 range. 78 during the day, lower to sleep but it's not normally too bad in the house with fans moving around the air...plus having the SWMBO wear next to nothing to keep cool is an added bonus. Keeping the house less than that keeps...

    Tampa rhyzomes

Sounds like a challenge to me. I accept, successfully grow centennial in florida 😃. Worst case scenario I'm out some money to buy a new plant and time to get the new one up and growing. Once they come in I'll make sure to document the process. Either way, I get to play in the dirt...
