    Skyrim and Mead

I've been meaning to make one of these for a while, I've got a buddy who's a celiac so I brew a cider now and then for him but since playing I've been thinking about doing something like this. Totally going to now! I've only ever had one mead and it was carbonated raspberry mead made by Alley...

    Hey from up north

I'm starting to think the only way to be a Canadian home brewer is to be an all grain brewer cause of DME prices here, $17 a kilo is pretty steep

    Ideas for a Simcoe recipe

I think its really neat when breweries make ipas that only use one kind of hops. I've read about the sam adams 12 case where they deconstructed their 48 degree ipa and did ipas wiith only one kind of hop in the different beers. A BC brewery called phillips did a similar thing 'cept they include...

Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer Bourbon Vanilla Porter (AG)

I did this in an IPA I did once, I used Canadian rye and let the chips soak in it for two weeks in tupperware. Then I drained off excess rye and added the chips in secondary. My plan was to let it sit in secondary for 3 weeks but my little bro knocked my airlock off and didn't tell me about it...

Equally Obnoxious Hockey Trash Talk Thread, eh?

Wow I'm so glad I looked that up, what a hit! If the goalies willing to compete with a player gunning it top speed, he should at least anticipate a collision and at least keep your head up, don't play the victim. This is hockey, not soccer

Equally Obnoxious Hockey Trash Talk Thread, eh?

Like I said, I'm just happy to see them not in the bottom of the league right now. If nugent hopkins can keep up the good work, Hemsky stays off injury, Paajarvi pulls his head out of ass, Hall doesn't miss anymore games cuz he's hungover, and khabibulin stays relatively consistent, the Oilers...

Equally Obnoxious Hockey Trash Talk Thread, eh?

Well after a few season's of paper-bag-on-head wearing I'm pretty happy to see the Oil not sitting at the bottom of the league and doing pretty well so far. I'm excited for all the young talent on the team right now but I'm worried some of them might burn out half way through the season. But hey...

    Ideas for a Simcoe recipe

Ya I'm a big fan of American IPAs but I don't think I've ever had a good example of an English one for a comparison. My favourite IPAs come out of BC where they grow lots of hops. Sounds like I'll be ordering some Amarillo online if I can find somewhere in Canada since its often a pain to order...

    Ideas for a Simcoe recipe

Nice to meet you Yoop, I've been using this site for a while but just started posting. Any suggestions for a good hop source online and what are some other good hop strains to order for IPA brewing purposes

    Hey from up north

Hey everyone I'm from Edmonton AB up in Canada. Up here the drinking age is 18 so I've been involved in the world of beer for a few years, worked at a liquorstore as soon as I was of age and learned as much about beer as possible. I don't work there anymore but it enlightened me to a whole lot...

    Ideas for a Simcoe recipe

Chinook sounds like an interesting one to combine it with, I really like the grapefruit character of lakefront IPA so maybe I'll formulate something with that in mind

    Ideas for a Simcoe recipe

Ya, I'd like to get my hands on some amarillo but its pretty tough to find, I've been eyeing a few of Yoopers recipes like that one and also his lakefront clone. I see warrior also come up a lot in combination with Simcoe. I'm willing to order Amarillo online if I can find it and if the...

    Ideas for a Simcoe recipe

Hi everyone, so I was at my LHBS and they had brought in a whole bunch of 8 oz bags of whole leaf hops. One bag that caught my eye was simcoe, having read about this hop and having never seen it carried before I bought it and it is now in my fridge :rockin:. I'm up in Alberta and have never even...
