Blew my lid but didn't re clean the lid

I left the house after checking the fermenter and 2 hours later the lid blew off with a huge mess. I know I just joined the club. I quickly recovered it and put in a blow off tube. Unfortunately during all the commotion of trying to get it cleaned up before my wife got home and getting the...

    No Carbonation

thanks Revvy, I live in San Diego but it has been cold here in the low 60's. I just took them out of the sun and put them in the house. Hopefully we will get back to our seasonal temps in the 70's soon. your suggestion of "patience" is the hardest part of brewing. I need to get more than...

    No Carbonation

this is my second batch and the only thing I did differently was put them in refigerator as soon as I bottled them. I just took them out gave them a little swirl and put them in the sun to warm up a littlel. Hopefully that will help.

    No Carbonation

I recently made a Pale Ale everything seemed to be going well, I was real close on my gravity goals and now 3 weeks after bottling I tried my first bottle last night and there was no carbonation. I added the packet of sugar to my bottling bucket just as I have done in the past so I don't know...

IPA didn't percolate until 35 hrs later should I worry?

Thanks for all the replies. I'll just sit and wait. would a second round of yeast change the taste and or potentially contaminate the beer?

IPA didn't percolate until 35 hrs later should I worry?

Sorry for my ignorance, I didn't know you needed to make a starter with liquid yeast?

IPA didn't percolate until 35 hrs later should I worry?

Thanks Beer Guy. This is only my second batch and like most newbies I am paranoid about screwing something up.

IPA didn't percolate until 35 hrs later should I worry?

I am making my first IPA my OG is 1.064 and I used a liquid yeast. I didn't do the best job of a aerating before hand. I just splashed the cooled wart into my bucket. That worked on my first batch but it was a smaller beer with dry yeast. It didn't start percolating until 35 hrs in. Should I...

    6 Gallon Carboy

Thanks for all the advice. Sorry I wasn't too clear. My bucket is a 6 gallon bucket but I have 5 gallons fermenting in it. I was a little worried about the oxygen. As AnOldUR said I am dry hopping for aroma. I plan on keeping it in the secondary for 7 days. I must admit I am a novice. This...
