    Growler Conditioning

The brown 64 oz growlers that you get at your local bar or brewpub are not designed to hold pressure. It's going to depend greatly on the quality of the growler. I've had growlers break from just being tapped on the edge of the sink. I've also dropped growlers on the ground that were perfectly...

    The Fermtank

I'm interested and might just order one. It fits the size I've been looking for and has all the right connections. Has anyone seen/used one of these in the wild? https://www.deltabrewingsystems.com/products/the-fermtank-8-gallon

    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

That link just takes me to an empty wish list. Any one else having an issue with that?

    Ball lock valves

I store all of my mash tun's and fermenter's with ball locks in the open position. I also leave the lids off. I made a mistake a few years ago when I left the lids on. I hadn't let the mash tun dry completely. Came back to that a few weeks later with a case of black mold. Some scrubbing and a...

    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

Not as far as I know. I looked for several days off and on for a kit before I gave in and purchased all of the parts. My understanding is that Tilt owns the patent(s) for these types of devices. Any commercial use or reference would violate those patents.

    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

For me, it would depend on which version of the charging board I had ordered. If I had the 4 pin board and the 3.1 PCB I would probably go for it and assemble at least one of them to test with. At least this way you could work out any bugs in your process. The first one I assembled had a bad...

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

Thank you. I'm a developer myself. I understand how things that look right sometimes work wrong. I'll check that in the morning and report back. Thanks again for taking the time to look at that.

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

Over the weekend I assembled 3 iSpindel sensors. I set each iSpindel to use Fahrenheit as it's temperature. I then went on the search to find something to send the data to. After searching for quite a while I came across Fermentrack. It does exactly what I want. Except for one thing, the...

Making double sized starters and saving half

It was a krausen issue. Some yeast is more vigorous than others.

Making double sized starters and saving half

Yes, you can go straight to making a 2l starter. Your issue is going to be making a 2l starter with the equipment you have. In almost every case, when I've tried to make a 2l starter in a 2l flask, I ended up with an overflow issue. The largest starter you are going to be able to make in a 2l...

    Kegging with Manifold Setup

This is the right move. When I expanded from 1 to 2 kegs I only installed a 2 way manifold. Not long after that I started to realize that it would be super convenient if I didn't have to disconnect one keg every time I wanted to charge a third keg.

Making double sized starters and saving half

Yes, you can bank your starter. When I first started banking yeast I use to use pint mason jars. Over build the starter by 16 Oz. and save that much out for some time in the future. Could be weeks, months or years down the line. Now I only save out 100 ml. That is enough to get a new starter...

    All-Grain Moon Man Clone?

I read through that thread again after posting that. There are definitely a lot of people guessing at what would work best. I have some some Kveik yeast here. I have yet to use it. A teaspoon in a 5 gallon batch doesn't seem to be enough. But if it works, go for it!

Did you order exactly the same weight of each item? Seems like you could weight each one and figure it out.
