In my opinion these do not provide good flavors. I agree with OP an using real fruit. I think you will get a much better flavor profile and product.

I like the New Glarus interview on Brew Strong. Listened to that a few times but find it difficult to find subjects I like on BN. Searching through the Beersmith site there is tons of good info there. Going to start with that.

I use my Marks Keg Cleaner pump to push ice water through my immersion chiller. I recently built a new 50' so I use my old 25' as a pre chiller in its own bucket of ice water.

+1 for unfinished dowel. I have 2 oak dowels $.99 at Menards. Just took a razor blade and carved 1 gal graduations. Easy peazie.
