    Make IPA Clear Again

    I made a Lemondrop smash a few weeks ago with an IBU of 70. It was the most riduculously light color and clear beer I've ever made. It was pretty dang good too.

    I'm doing a 6% rye IPA hopped with mosaic and lemondrop. Debating on weather to use some orange bitter peel that needs using. I've already thrown in the last of my carapils because it needed to be used too.

    Homehade hazy IPA 78% 2-row, 22% wheat Hopped with centennial, lemondrop, harlequin, simcoe, and amarillo.

    White mold on my hop spider

    I pulled out my hop spider this morning, just looking equipment over. I found some white mold on it. (root cause already found and remedied) I've never had to deal with white mold. Is good scrub in oxiclean, plus a sanitize in starsan enough or should I use a stronger sanitizer? Thoughts?

    For a temp fix, try flour paste on the outside.

    Any risk with bottling while having covid?

    There is no risk to transferring covid via the brew as it is virus based. If covid was a bacteria....well then that'd be different :cool: Your biggest risk is drinking a good beer when your taste/smell is wacked up. Feel better soon dude.

    This. What Immocles said. I usually stock a 55lb bag of munich to mix with standard 2 row for “tastier” grain forward brews

    Id go with: standard 2-row malt chocolate malt roasted barley caramel 80 or 120 for some, maybe carapils

    yeah, it fermented like crazy. it was a 15 gal batch of 10% beer :cool:

    This does work. S-04 is pretty cheap in 500g bags. Brewing another beer first is actually the best route. Second use of that yeast will start super first. Make sure you use a blow off tube, and maybe secondary containment. this happened to me a week ago.

    Ive done this with 8 to 9% stouts, where the top few inches is not filled. Purge with co2, and rotate the keg every week, even if its just 30 degrees.

    I made a pretty big batch (for me) today. Ended up pitching 75 grams of dry yeast. :cool:

    I hear you. Doing the same thing. I've always used dry yeast. I think I'm going to switch to buying half kilo bags instead of 11g packets.

    I got two emails this week about ~10ish % price increases. Im thinking about purchasing a bunch of dry yeast to carry me through the next six months. Anyone else doing this?

    I got mY box of black friday hops from Hops Direct. Ten glorious pounds of hops. I think tHey threw in two extra free pounds.
