    Midwest Supplies

Well, my stuff showed up today - one order split into 2 boxes - so, except for the not being kept in the loop with emails and tracking #s, Monday order to Saturday delivery is pretty darn good.

Cold crash and time to carbonate

So, I realize a ton of people cold crash (and a bunch even use gelatin) so my issue isn't with 'will there be enough yeast'. Does cold crashed beer take longer to carb up, or it it sufficiently re-warmed by the time you are done bottling?

    Last minute cold crash

I intend to bottle a 5 gallon batch of Pale Ale tomorrow. Will I get any benefit from cold crashing tonight? I would have to do it outside where it is 33* right now and is supposed to get to 27-28. Would I have to worry about freezing? Worth it or not?

    Midwest Supplies

I placed an order Monday around noon. When the website showed proccessing on Wednesday, I did a live chat and the guy said they had some people out sick and were running a little behind. He said my order had been printed and pulled and I should get a tracking email Wed pm/Thu am. When the...

    Costco Beer?

They are not too bad considering its about 20 bucks for a case. They are pop top, so why not spend $20 on a case of bottles WITH BEER than $17 on empty bottles? Especially if you are going to have a party and have other people empty them for you.

Seriously can not get the lid off the bucket-please help

Take the airlock out Put one knee on the middle of the lid (there is usually a circle there) Pry up on the lip of the lid in one spot and work your way around (you may have to go around more than once, just pry up part way all the way, and go back over) If THAT fails, there should be...

    Anyone try BRY-97 yet

Thanks, I just wanted to add to the 'database' since it seems like this is a new yeast. After reading this thread today I wasn't too worried, but am feeling better now (just my second batch)

    Anyone try BRY-97 yet

My American Pale Ale JUST started after 30 hours (I finally have airlock action but no foam yet) and mean just, I was gone for an hour after no action and when I got home, bubbles. Sitting at 63-65*, pitched at 72ish after (mostly) rehydrating per the instructions

    IPA Extract Recipe Help

Bob, when you say you are adding DME with 5min left, you are, presumably, removing it from the burner? If so, do you just let your timer roll, or do you count the last 5min down after it starts boinling again???

    optimum ale ferm. temps.

From what I've seen, you WANT to raise your bottles up to 70-72* for carbonation. When seaching around this site for that same answer, most people quoted or linked to this: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f35/bottling-tips-homebrewer-94812/ You COULD leave them cooler, but just know that it...
