Starter with only 1 dry pack

Have done this many times and one pack of s-04 is all I've ever needed. and what the others said, just rehydrate it, no need to make a starter.

How to add permanent volume markings to a kettle (illustrated)

Mine wasn't working at first, so I kept adding salt to the vinegar until I got the sizzle on contact (you'll know it when you see it). Also, make sure the wire on the q-tip is low enough so it is wet and completing the circuit. I also kept the other wire close to where I was etching so it...

I got a ton of fruity hops that I don't know what to do with

make that 5 tons for me, and yeah....needing them for some planned brews and actually 2 pounds of it is citra (zombie dust rules :rockin: ) Double Ziploc them and put them in your freezer, I'm still using hops from 2 yrs ago this way and they are fine.

Sweet Stout Left Hand Milk Stout Clone

I just took a reading at 2 1/2 weeks and got 1.026. How do you 'account for the lactose'? I mean, I know it's a milk stout and I 'know' it's done since it has been that long (and the sample tasted outstanding), but was wondering if most people ended this high? My OG was 1.067 and I used S04.

    West Coast Red Ale

Hey Yoop, have a look at this one that I did: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f12/recipe-critique-thoughts-dry-hop-464983/ Was shooting for more of a red-colored IPA than a hoppy red. People who have tried it say it is a little hoppy but balanced (even though it came in at about 9% abv)...

    Hey slurry (re)Pitchers

Well, I checked on it this morning and it was out the blowoff tube. I ended up pitching 1/2 cup (about 125 ml) from the middle of the jar on the first post. Which, according to Mr. Malty, may have even been an overpitch. We shall see. So far, so good.

    Hey slurry (re)Pitchers

Well, it's been 12 hrs since I last checked and I've got pretty good bubbling through a blowoff tube. Seems like it worked just fine. I suppose I should note that this was Safale S-05.

    Hey slurry (re)Pitchers

A whole pint jar? Seems like a lot. After settling for 8 hrs, I ended up with a 1/2 cup of 'liquid' which I poured off, then I ended up pitching the middle 1/2 cup. Will report back if I remember to.

    Hey slurry (re)Pitchers

I grabbed this jar from a batch I just got done bottling. I didn't add any water. I'm brewing a 1.070 OG batch in a few hours. You guys just pitch the prescribed (Mr Malty -- 1/2 cup) amount of this muck into the new batch, is that right?

Brewing at friends then driving wort home?

    Spruce Beer Recipe...Whats your Thoughts?

I don't think I'd go sans hops either. Use something piney... And this is probably one of those times where you start with a small amount and adjust up next time.
