    First Water Adjustment Attempt Help

As for fiddling are you referring to the different beers I'll brew? I figured I would have to customize each if it calls for it. As for the sparge, I do BIAB and I have not used a sparge yet. I squeeze the grains with a homemade press and have had good luck hitting my numbers. Thanks.

    First Water Adjustment Attempt Help

A while back I had my water tested by Ward Laboratories. I posted my results on the "All Grain" forum looking for help on what next to do. I was lead to a couple of different water calculators and ended up using Bru'n Water. I decided to post the results of my first attempt at correcting my...

Help With My Water Test Reaults

Primarily I brew porters and stouts. I may do a wheat for the summer. So you are saying enter my grain bill in a water program and play with the additives to get my PH in the range of a dark beer water profile? Sounds easy. Thanks.

Help With My Water Test Reaults

Thanks much for your input. I decided to download Bru'N Water and give it a try. It's more complex but I've read through it and it's very good at explaining all areas. The one thing I'm confused on is selecting a water profile. Currently I'm brewing porters and stouts. Is the program...

Help With My Water Test Reaults

Thanks everyone for your input. I've read these post and other articles but still am a little lost on the subject. I have played with the EZ Water program and correct me if I'm wrong but it appears is that I put in my test results and what I'm attempting to do is correct the PH of my mash and...

Help With My Water Test Reaults

I'm hoping this is the correct forum to post this. At the beginning of the year I finished brewing three batches in my BIAB E-System. This was my first attempt at all grain brewing and from some of the feedback was told to consider having my water tested. All the batches were drinkable but one...

    Suggestions/Help with a Cranberry wheat

Looking to make an all grain cranberry wheat for my wife and daughters for this summer. Last year I did a small raspberry wheat wheat but was an extract. I found this recipe from 2008 and haven't had much luck finding any others. It was posted by "iamjonsharp". Here's the link...

To Squeeze and How Much To Squeeze

I don't mean to take this thread in a different direction but I feel there are people posting on this thread that could answer this. Seeing I'm new to all grain and BIAB I've been doing some reading on this but want to know your feelings. I'm understanding some on unfermentables in the wort...

To Squeeze and How Much To Squeeze

With that, I may be able to use the numbers the program gives me. Currently with my setup it's been a bit high. Next batch I'll try the strike temp given and see how it works.

To Squeeze and How Much To Squeeze

I do have a pulley system. All I need to do is make a spreader to hold the bag open and I'm good to go. Is 168 degree the normal for sparge water? Using the Priceless calculator that's the default temp. Thanks.

To Squeeze and How Much To Squeeze

Thanks. I have been using the Priceless calculator. I just enetered the amounts for my last batch and if I enter 2 gallons for sparge it will still give me the same amount for "Total Water Needed". I imagine that I need to subtract the 2 gallons from that and that would give me my starting...

To Squeeze and How Much To Squeeze

Thanks for your input on this. Never thought my thread would get this many responses and opinions. Being just a beginner at BIAB I was trying to get my mash efficience above my first batch which was 88%. Now I see there is more to it. After looking at my third batch numbers it appears all I...

Third Batch in E-BIAB System. Looking for Input

Well I opted for the 90 mash and added a 168 degree mash out for ten minutes. I then made a sandwich board to squeeze the mash. Worked good and no hot hands and sore arms. Got my grain absorption to .066. Lowered my strike temp and was closer. Only 2 degrees low but better than 5 high like...

To Squeeze and How Much To Squeeze

Well I did my third batch today and here's what I made for squeezing. Worked great. My calculated grain absorption was .066. Got more out from my first two batches without hot hands and sore arm's. Between the squeezing, my extended mash time of 90 minutes and a 10 minute mash out at 168 Deg...
