    Replacing Lines. What Type??

Thanks much. I have just placed my order.

    Replacing Lines. What Type??

From what I've read the OD is 5/16" so that's the size fitting you use.

    Replacing Lines. What Type??

Sort of confused on what the copper accomplishes. If your keg with beer in it, your lines and taps are inside the kegerator, what does the copper do? It's all at the same temperature. Jut wondering if I'm missing something.

    Replacing Lines. What Type??

Thanks for your input. Being new to kegging I want to get it right to begin with. For the summer months I'll have the system at our hunting land where we spend much of our time. There's time we may be gone for a week so the beer will sit in the line till we come up. Then we may spend a week or...

    Replacing Lines. What Type??

I've posted earlier about a complete kegging system I came across. I've been cleaning everything up and have remove all the old lines. A person suggested I replace the lines and after looking at the ones came with the system agree. They are nasty looking. He mentioned using Bev Seal Ultra. I...

Hit The Jack Pot so I'm Moving to Kegging

Fortunately I have a place close and my tank was expired so what they had me do was a replacement but with a Test charge included. As long as my tank I exchange is not expired the fill charge is $19.95. Definitely what I need to do. Thanks

Hit The Jack Pot so I'm Moving to Kegging

I'm thinking you're right on the 20 lb. Tank. With all the tank purging I think the 5lb. Tank will go fast. Planning on doing a Backwoods Bastard clone for next fall so I'll bottle that but can scale back on bottles.

Hit The Jack Pot so I'm Moving to Kegging

I do need to replace the lines that came with the system. Been reading on the Bev Seal Ultra and like everything, has mixed reviews but leaning towards it.

Hit The Jack Pot so I'm Moving to Kegging

Thanks for your advice. I'm getting into bourbon Stouts. I have done one last march and found it did get much better with time. With that said, can you fill a 5 gallon keg half full without any issues with creating off flavors from O2 being introduced into the keg? I did get a plastic conical...

Hit The Jack Pot so I'm Moving to Kegging

My barbed fittings appear to be pressed into the shanks. I'll look at getting 3/16" line over the 1/4". Thanks . Another issue resoled.

Hit The Jack Pot so I'm Moving to Kegging

Thanks NGD. Got lube so I'll make sure to do that. WantWa sure about sanitizing before storage but guess it doesn't hurt. Got you on the pressure reading being low if stored inside. Will watch and read more about this. Thanks. Bill

Hit The Jack Pot so I'm Moving to Kegging

Well after over 6 years of bottling I'm making the move to kegging. Just 2 week ago, with the help of my wife, bottled up a batch of Buffalo Sweat Oatmeal Stout clone. She asked me then about kegging and pros and cons. She liked the idea she wouldn't have to help. Lol!! Well she planted the...

Convert 3v to Electric, EBIAB, or sell and get all in one system

I'm currently doing 5 & 5-1/2 gallon batches. I got a Fermentasaurus conical for Christmas which is 9.25 gallons so I can adjust my batches to handle those. I just plugged a recipe I recently brewed which was an oatmeal stout and doubled it. With my 20 gallon system would require 13.06 gallons...

Convert 3v to Electric, EBIAB, or sell and get all in one system

I'm not going to tell what to do with your existing system. I'll tell you how well I like my E-kettle. I started brewing with a Mr. Beer 2 gallon jug my daughter got me for Christmas about 6 years ago. Didn't take long and I bought me 5 gallon buckets and started with 5 gallon extract batches...

Clone Beer Founder's Breakfast Stout Clone

Cold steep would be safe for sure. My first coffee addition I waited till my temp was at 190 deg. I'm not a fan of maple flavor in beer but why not go for it. As for the whiskey chips, I may also try chips with my bourbon. As for both of my batches, the breakfast stout and the 2-1/2 gallons I...

Clone Beer Founder's Breakfast Stout Clone

When I read your post I thought what did I do add the wrong chocolate!!!!! I read this entire thread before brewing this beer and ended up reading much about the chocolate style and coffee additions. I went with cacao over cocoa because of the concerns with oils and added sugar in cocoa that I...

Clone Beer Founder's Breakfast Stout Clone

This what I bought but any brand would work and I found some today that cost less. I went with the powder because of what I read about the oils in the bars. Luminous Organic Cacao Powder 8 0z. bag Food To Live Organic Cacao Nibs 8 oz. bag I don't think it needs to be organic but most of the...

Clone Beer Founder's Breakfast Stout Clone

I'll get back tomorrow with the brand because we are not home. I did not use bars because of the oils in them and that can cause loss of head.

Clone Beer Founder's Breakfast Stout Clone

I added 2.5 oz. of powered dark bittersweet cocoa and 1.5 oz. unsweetened nibs at the last 15 minutes of the boil. The only thing I would do different is to put the nibs in a hop sack. They plugged my circ pump. I added my course ground Sumatra when my post boil temp dropped to 190. I did put...
