    Solved my oxidation woes

I'm interested in doing this as well. Has the sodium metabisulfite added to the kegs affected the beer in any negative ways? Thanks.

American Pale Ale Lake Walk Pale Ale

I've read how a lot of you guys cut this down to a 60 minute boil instead of the 90 minute boil listed in Dude's recipe. Doing either a 90 minute or 60 minute boil makes no difference to me. Is there any advantage of doing the 90 minute boil? Thanks!

American Wheat Beer Mosaic Honey Wheat

Brewed this up on Sunday. I ended up a little higher on efficiency than expected (83%). I pitched a healthy starter of Bell's yeast that I harvested from Oberon dregs. Looking forward to tasting this one. The boil smelled amazing.

2016 Oberon - Anyone Harvesting the Yeast?

Yes, I have a stir plate. This will be my first time harvesting yeast so I want to make sure I do it right. I'll probably have the dregs of four bottles tonight. How big of a starter should I start with? I'm assuming I'll still shoot for 1.040? Thanks!

2016 Oberon - Anyone Harvesting the Yeast?

Hey guys, So I'd like to brew this coming Sunday using harvested Oberon yeast. My question is, will I have enough time to step up a starter enough to use six days from now? I have a six pack of Oberon so I could harvest the yeast from all of them and get the starter going tonight. The brew...

Run fan in keezer full time?

I use a USB Thermaltake fan in my keezer. It runs 24/7 and does a great job keeping consistent temperatures.

Is Ward Labs report worth it for me?

Hello All! I've been considering sending a water sample to Ward Labs for analysis to compare to my water company's water analysis. However, according to my water company's analysis, calcium, magnesium, chloride, total alkalinity and TDS "will change seasonally". So would I have to send in a...

2016 Oberon - Anyone Harvesting the Yeast?

Will the dregs of a six pack be enough to get a good starter going? Thanks!

    Squeeze the bag

Recently I started using a cheap hoist to hold my bag in the air while I squeeze. Since then I've seen my efficiency jump 10% because I'm not fumbling around when I'm squeezing the bag. And I'd definitely buy some long cuff heat-resistant gloves to wear while you're squeezing.

RO Filter and Water Analysis Questions

Since my RO filter is filtering down to 4ppm TDS, would you still suggest I used your RO water profile on your spreadsheet even though that will start me off with higher than 4ppm TDS? Do you have another suggested start point since I'm starting with such a low TDS? Thanks again.

RO Filter and Water Analysis Questions

I read that RO water pH is usually in the 5-6 range. That's why I questioned it. I filtered water for another batch last night. TDS was 4ppm and the pH was 6.7.

RO Filter and Water Analysis Questions

I just used my new RO filter for the first time. My raw water measured 122 TDS and the filtered water read 5 TDS. I'm surprised it got down that low. My tap water pH is typically 8.2-8.5. My RO water is reading 7 pH. I expected lower. Should I be concerned?
