The WHIRLPOOL MASTER paddle! The end all of whirlpool issues!

Hey Jay, This looks great! I was just getting ready to finally order the Ultimate Whirlpool/Aeration Paddle and saw this. What are the main differences between the two? Thanks!

    Krausen Fell During Active Fermentation

OG of the stout was 1.058, the rye was 1.069. I used a higher pitch rate when calculating the rye ipa. I still have a TON of activity through the blowoff tubes of both batches. That's why I'm confused. I've never seen a krausen fall in the middle of active fermentation.

    Krausen Fell During Active Fermentation

Good guess. I did a 60/40 split between the two. Knowing that I wouldn't know exactly what was going into each by doing this, I overestimated just to be safe. So I'm positive that I did not underpitch.

    Krausen Fell During Active Fermentation

Good morning all, Over the weekend I brewed two 5 gallon batches, a Rye IPA and an Oatmeal Stout. I made a huge starter of WLP200 Best of Both Worlds (MoreBeer exclusive) and split it between the two batches. I used a pitching calculator so I know my yeast quatities were good. I pitched the...

    A Brewing Water Chemistry Primer

Since I started using this primer, I consistently come in .12-.17 lower than the brewersfriend mash chemistry calculator predicts. The key word is, consistently. So if you're off every brew day but it's consistently off by around the same amount, I'd just keep doing what you're doing and aim for...

American Amber Ale Caramel Amber Ale

Thanks for the response! I ended up brewing a version of this last weekend. I didn't have time to make the candi syrup from scratch so I used the D-45 like you did. I bittered with Warrior hops and added the suggested 1 oz. of Willamette and a small amount of Galaxy at flameout. I'll post how it...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Two-hearted and Oberon definitely use the same yeast.

American Amber Ale Caramel Amber Ale

Have you sampled your batch yet? I'm very interested in the D-45 addition, especially if the vanilla notes are detectable.

I like the sounds of that hop combo. Would you mind posting your hop schedule?

English Porter Black Pearl Porter (AG)

I agree. It was great from the start. If you can be patient, around the 6 month mark it's absolutely amazing. Definitely one of the best beers I've brewed.

American Wheat Beer Mosaic Honey Wheat

I completely forgot until now to give an update... This brew has turned into my best brew accident. As I said before, I used Bell's yeast that I harvested from Oberon dregs. The finished beer, which I was hoping had a clean yeast flavor to it, ended up having a belgian peppery note upfront. No...

    Oatmeal Stout Yooper's Oatmeal Stout

I brewed this up last weekend using Denny's Favorite 50 yeast. Fermentation was strong for the first couple of days and then abruptly stopped. The krausen fell on day 4. I checked the gravity yesterday, one week after brewing, and it came in at 1.022 and tasted way too sweet. I'm going to try to...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Any time that I've keg dry hopped, I've waited 2 weeks of dry hop time before tasting. My thinking is since I'm dry hopping at serving temperature, the aromatic qualities of the hops will take longer to come out than if I had dry hopped at room temperature. Also, I always use a good quality dry...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Hey Brau, I see that you specifically called out German wheat? Have you tried this grain bill with American wheat? Just curious what the difference between them was. Thanks!

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

What is the difference between MIAB and true BIAB? I'm not sure what you mean.

Pennsylvania FT: Perlick 630ss for your 525ss

Were you successful in finding a 525ss? I'm in the same boat. I have three 525ss and two 630ss on my keezer. It would be cool if they all matched but I have them staggered so it looks pretty good.
