    Minimum Fermentation Temp

Good point, but like a dummy I threw out the package before reading that (I always get ahead of myself). Yeah I think I have it too cold. I came across an old fridge, thought it would be a good wort chiller, so I dialed it down a bit. I just haven't seen any activity in my wort (airlock), this...

    Minimum Fermentation Temp

What is the minimum temperature that fermentation can take place at? Does it make any difference to be closer or further away from this temperature?

Fementing cool, bottle at room temp

I guess I'm thinking of it along the lines of if you pull out a bottle of ketsup, open it, and put it in the fridge, then I wouldn't want to leave it out all the next day at room temp and try eating it afterwards... Just a thought I had, thanks for the advice though guys.

Fementing cool, bottle at room temp

If I ferment my wort in at cool temp, then bottle and leave the bottles at room temp will this affect the beer at all? Should I put all the bottles in the fridge too?

    What is your Brewing Pet-Peeve?

Two things come to mind here... I understand why all grain is appealing and all (I like using AG and extract depending on my mood, type of beer, time budget, etc.), however I hate how the elitists out there think you are not a "real brewer" unless you go AG. Some folks don't have the time or...

Making small recipe into large recipe

He has recipes for a 1:2 and 1:3. I have had mustang wine before, and I agree it needs to be watered down a bit first. They are much different than say "store bought" grapes.

Making small recipe into large recipe

Yes it did, they are as follows: Dissolve sugar in water and add juice and yeast nutrient in primary fermentation vessel. Check Specific Gravity with hydrometer to ensure it is at least 1.090. If shy of this number, add additional sugar as required (see...

Making small recipe into large recipe

This recipe was suggested from a fellow site member. It looks to make 1 gallon. I I want to turn this into a 4-5 gallon recipe can, I just up all ingredients by 4? I'm not sure that it is formulated that way and I just want to make sure. I will appreciate any help. 1 quart Mustang Grape juice...

Recipe using field corn or sweet corn

This is very useful information, thanks guys. I'm going to be working on a recipe over the next few weeks so keep your eyes pealed and I will post it up so you can let me know what you think. As far as field vs. sweet, we eat field corn whole kernel and on the cob just like sweet corn. The only...

Recipe using field corn or sweet corn

Does anyone out there have a recipe using field corn or sweet corn? I'm asking because I come from a farming family, I haven't experimented much with all grain, and I would like to start and try using the grain that we grow. We grow both field and sweet corn, although there is a ton more field...

Aussie Golden Ale & Buxom Blonde Ale

Has anyone ever brewed the aussie golden or buxom blond ale kits before? I'm thinking about buying one, or both, from Defalco's in Houston. I just wanted to see what fellow brewers have to say about them. Any comments will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Mustang/Wild Grape beer

Anyone ever used wild grapes in a beer before? I'm thinking maybe a Belgian or a wheat beer of some sort?? They grow everywhere here in coastal Texas, I know there has got to be a way to incorporate them into brewing somehow....

mustang grape/ wild grape wine recipe

I've drank a ton of it and always thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm more experienced with making beer, this will be my first attempt at wine making. On second thought, I may post a thread about adding wild grapes to a beer as well. You should come down one June and collect all the grapes you can!
