Found some C02 Tanks - Can I use them?

If the green one is an 02 tank, a gas place won't fill it if it has any sort of medical labeling on it. If so, go to a scuba diving place. I went to one with an old medical 02 tank and the guy filled it, no problem. Keep the tanks and put them to use!

Found some C02 Tanks - Can I use them?

If you plan to keg, don't get rid of them. They can be used. I had a bunch of old tanks. The place where I go - a major gas business - simply swaps them out for up-to-date- tanks. In the past, I had to have a tank tested, etc., but in the end the place filled it. Check your local gas...

    auto siphon seals

I, too, have been having problems with my autosiphon and the seal. So, I'm curious as to using C02 to push the beer through the racking cane. How do you connect the C02 source to the "second hole" of the carboy cap? I like this idea, but was wondering how to get a good fit with a C02 line to...

New conical question - dumping trub

Removing the air lock (which I know is bad)... Actually, I take a paper towel, squirt rubbing alcohol on it, take the air lock out, put the paper towel over the air-lock hole, and drain the bottom valve. While some "air" (oxygen) gets into the conical, I haven't been able to detect any off...

Best Places to Buy Brewing Hardware?

Brewhardware. Bobby was very helpful when I was putting together my electric herms system.

    Going electric, where to start

Depending on how much grain I use, I have two ways to clean the MT. First, if the grain bill isn't too big, I simply untighten the sanitary clamp (the hardware is sold by Bobby M) and pop off a elbow, 8" pipe, and ball valve and let all the grain drop through the opening. Then just wash out...

    Going electric, where to start

Definitely consider a bottom drain option, especially if you're using kegs. I just built an electric, single tier, two pump, one PID, two 5500 elements and went with bottom drains. The bottom drain, if set up appropriately, will eliminate the scooping, etc., and better CIP. Check out Bobby...

Prebuilt electric control panels under $500

Build it yourself! I finished mine a couple of months ago and had a blast putting it together. No doubt it's daunting at first, but after a bit of reading, tracking posts on this forum, asking questions, etc., you learn a lot and better appreciate your new brewery. Also, in the end, I saved...
