    Carboy protip

Through the magical word of science :) comes a great tip for when you're dumping out the liquid from your carboy. If you swirl the liquid around while dumping, the liquid will come out evenly and will eliminate the glug, glug effect.

    1st time brewing question

More hops the better :) You're not gonna mess it up if you use more hops. I buy my hops in 2 ounce packets, if i have any left over, i just toss them in at like 5-15 minutes.

    Choice of starter kit

Forget the kits dude If you're just starting out, get a 3+ gallon stock pot (around $15), a stainless steel spoon ($5), some hop/grain bags ($10 total), hydrometer ($5), airlock (1) and a fermenting bucket (13) You could brew for less than $50. Even less if you already have a stock pot and spoon.

Geez...how could you forget about your first brew? :) Just trust your hydrometer and taste buds. Take a reading and drink it. If BOTH are good, keg it or bottle.

Hey all I'm a newbie from the beer capital of the world. I might be the cheapest human alive, so any tips on cutting down the cost of home brewing would be great. Cheap 10 gal kettles? Cheap burners? etc...
