No joke. I just picked up like 11 lbs and only spent $78!
Here's the website

He said he'd mail you an ounce and it would only cost you a stamp.

I just had it in boiling water. It's fine.
Geez, do you people not have anything else to do than to sit on a forum and poke fun at other people's posts that you know nothing about?
I posted a couple days ago that I was going to do a weldless thermometer using a $0.89 rubber stopper and I received a crapload of mockery. You all asked me to post pictures...so you could mock, you asked me to youtube it...so you could mock. Well...in the imortal words of Run DMC:
"But see...
Not PVC, it's CPVC and CPVC is fine up to 200 degrees and I'm not going to boil it since it's a false bottom for my MLT.
I didn't go with copper because I'm a cheap-o and I had the CPVC on hand.
Oh come all ye mockers,
Haters and nay sayers,
Come ye oh come ye to mock, mock, my post :)

20 bucks? Do you think I'm made of money????
I'm going with the stopper :)
I'm pretty sure that the metal gets hotter than the liquid inside, but I'll risk it.
Worst thing that'll happen is I have to drill a larger hole for the weldless kit.
Do any of you all know what the temp is on the metal of a SS keggle when it is heated?
I'm trying to figure out if I can do a weldless thermometer ghetto style (just a rubber stopper with a hole drilled for a thermometer).
Not mine, although I wish I would have waited in building my 3 tier until AFTER this ad came up :)

Bro....
First step is to CALM DOWN.
It's going to be fine. I ferment all the time in the garage, regardless of the temperature. Don't get bogged down with all the YOU MUSTS that you read about on forums. Fermentations gonna happen...relax.
