Hornindal Kveik is blowing my mind

Just to back this up, the folllowing pic shows fermentation of a brew I did last year where you can see that I pitched the yeast at 28.5C(83F) within a couple of hours it went up to 30C(86F)-ish and it kept itself more or less there for one and a half day then it went down to 25.5C(78F) as...

Hornindal Kveik is blowing my mind

My experience is that it will not ramp down to room temp by itself, it will stick at 75-ish. But I am talking about the Hornindal Kveik(OYL-091 HORNINDAL KVEIK by Omega yeast), not the blend of 3 strains that you used, that could be completely different.

Why don't U.S macrobrews taste like European?

Another thing can be that for example Heineken, a Dutch beer, have their own yeast strain since 1873! which they keep secret and so is exlusively used in Heineken beers.

You can't assume that. As stated before the calibration is mandatory in order for the iSpindel to work properly. If it hasn't data in the config file to relate the current state to, the outcome is unpredictable and is the same as if you wouldn't have an iSpindel which is nothing.

Once fermentation starts it will keep itself warm until fermentation is done. No worries.

This is kind of interesting. Preface: Last wednesday I went to the Saint-Sixtus Abbey in West Vleteren Belgium to collect a case of beer that I ordered. It is kind of special because you only can order this beer online, maximum 2 cases at a time, and you have to collect it yourself with a car...

Hornindal Kveik is blowing my mind

"The key to really bringing out the yeast character is to underpitch. Kveik thrives with being pitched at levels that would be dangerously low for normal yeast, and produces more flavour that way. A good rule of thumb is a teaspoon of slurry for 25 liters of wort. If you do this take care to...

Hornindal Kveik is blowing my mind

Check this out, all you want to know about kveik yeasts, pitchrates etc. http://www.garshol.priv.no/blog/393.html What I did, the Omega pack is 100ml, after shaking the pack very well I devided it in 5 X 20ml in little containers like below because you should underpitch.
