    ball lock disconnect not holding

I could not get the universal poppet to work at all. It stood proud of the post surface. Can you switch the poppet with a regular one just to test this post?

    ball lock disconnect not holding

Aw, monkey, bigfoot, doesn't matter. Until the poo flinging starts of course :)

    ball lock disconnect not holding

I have several with posts like that. Did you replace the o-ring? And you're using the black disconnect for liquid out, right? Is it "fits loosely and won't latch" or "fits very tight and no matter how hard I press down it won't latch"? Because that last is what I have experienced, and I've...

    Thanksgiving Keezer Disaster

Same thing can happen if you have threaded ends on your beer line and they are loose. I had cleaned the lines and had not tightened the nut enough where it attaches to the liquid out disconnect. Just enough for a very slow leak, fortunately I caught it but still wasted a gallon at least.

    Let's Talk Hops

The other thing about hops considered "clean" for bittering is the cohumulone content. The lower it is the cleaner and less harsh the bitterness is. Warrior is an excellent bittering hop for this reason. When considering other lower AA hops for bittering, I suggest looking at this. Of course the...

Hops Group Buy in Chicago #1

Ha, I thought this area sounded familiar. Bill I bought some corny kegs from you off Craigslist in April and came to your shop to get them. Small world! :mug:

    Chiller question

If you don't have time to drill your keggle, how do you have time to make a CFC? I'd say the best use of your time is to drill your keggle and get a weldless fitting in there with a valve and then make a quickie immersion chiller - although with copper prices that's not the cheapest thing to do...

Hops Group Buy in Chicago #1

It would be good to know what pickup days/times work best. And location of course. I work in the ravenswood/Lincoln square area and could probably pick up hops for those northside people who have schedule problems. You'd then pick up from me at work or we could work something else out. Doug

Should a newbie buy SS kegs?

Wow I wish my wife would point out equipment for me to buy. Sounds like your hubby is imagining a kegerator in his near future!

WHAT in the bloody name of HELL is this?!?!

Did you use a whirlfloc tablet? The first time I used whirlfloc this happened to me. It was quite a ways beyond anything I had experienced just using irish moss. I admit I did get a little weirded out but everything turned out fine.

    Need something clean and fruity

I'm sure someone will chime in with some british ale yeasts, but for a more out-there recommendation, try Wyeast 2112. It's the steam beer (Cali lager) yeast but I use it like an ale. Ferment it towards the higher end, say ferm temp of 68F (that's the room temp, not the wort). It flocs clean and...

There's room for all opinions, not my favorite as noted, but you have to respect that many like it.

Someone here pointed out, if you select "for goods and services" it will deduct a percentage, but if you select the "personal" tab and use "money owed" it doesn't do it. wish I had known that up front. [EDIT] as long as you are transferring from your bank account the above is true.

My status says "Pre-Ordered" and I ordered on 10/15. If yours says "Processing" you're one step ahead of me.
