have you tried fermenting and serving from the same keg without transferring?

I've also just let it go 14 days. I figure I can test gravity at any time by hooking up a picnic tap and filling a test jar. I figure there will be enough push from the co2 that the yeast created.

Help with NZ-like/tropical Pale Ale extract recipe

Or waimea if sticking with an all NZ hop concept. Wakatu (I think) is lower AA and more floral whereas waimea is more tropical fruit and citrus

Help with NZ-like/tropical Pale Ale extract recipe

NB has a kit called Kiwi Express. It uses (pretty much) a West coast grist with 3 New Zealand hops. The additions are at 60, 10, and DH. The hops are Nelson Sauvin, Motueka, and Wakatu. It's a good beer. https://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/recipe/view/321699/kiwi-express-ipa

    Brewing Towels?

If I gave my wife a dozen new kitchen towels for Christmas, I would get the kind of side eye that says, "WTF are you up to here?" 😄

    Brewing Towels?

Wal-Mart. Auto/Tools area. White utility towels. Shop rags, I guess they call them. Bar rags might be cheaper. https://www.walmart.com/ip/12-x-12-White-Cotton-Value-Washcloth-Rags-1-LB-Weight-Per-Dozen-1-Dozen/202938504

    Random Picture Thread

I'm really glad that all of my kids have been to The Capitol Building. They have seen the majesty and decorum and felt the weight of history. One year we even got a tour up into the dome and were able to go out onto the cupola. The desecration of that space a year ago breaks my heart. That's a...

I don't care about either Rogers or Esiason, but I'm curious ... do any of you have a 60 year old friend who goes by "Boom"? https://sports.yahoo.com/boomer-esiason-got-pranked-apparently-163629326.html?fr=yhssrp_catchall

    Grain prices

There is a brew shop on Atlanta that lists Be less 2 row and Rahr 2 row at $57. All other maltsters are $70. If there is a brewery or a distillery near you they might let you piggy back on their order. Can't hurt to ask.

Reach out to Martin. I have always found him to be very responsive. You could also look at Mash Made Easy. I often use those two as comparisons and double checks. Larry is also very responsive.

Is your open office from Libre? When I first used BW in open document format, Martin recommended that I switch to Libre Office. Worked for me.

    Head scratching

I struggle with that energy cost idea as well. I know that brewing indoors with natural gas beats brewing outdoors with propane, for both cost and fuel waste. And then folks tell me electric brewing will be cheaper. But my biggest utility cost is the power that runs the blower motor .. kills me...

    Random Drunken Thoughts Thread

Drunk or deaf? I thought for sure Donna asked me if there was a spaetzle election coming up in the county. Spaetzle election? Like a cook off? With the cooks in lederhosen and dirndels? And maybe some dimpled glasses with Helles and Dunkelweisen? Great image to drift off to sleep, but maybe she...

    New recipe

Notty is a good yeast. I'm experimenting with a batch now .. Under pressure* with no temp control. I cooled the wort well below 60 and sealed it up. The house is about 68. I'm pretty confident that this will go well as all my experience with Notty has been good. * I play Queen tunes for the...

    Head scratching

there is a You Tube brewer (David Heath) who almost exclusively uses AIO systems (Grainfather specifically) and he always stirs the hot break foam back into the boil. I would say it's worth watching a few of his videos as he often includes tried and true recipes.
